Buy all your food stuffs to take home from here!
This is a huge market with lots of side lanes with different specialities. The produce is first class and very often the vendors would offer my friend and I a taste of something, if we were not sure whether to buy the produce or not! I visited Central Market and bought my nuts, jamons and cheeses to take back home and they were excellent both in quality and value for money!

    Need to see
Beautiful market but you can’t really have lunch there like in Barcelona. We bought few things and ate it while walking around. Very good! Just different. It is an amazing market if not to seat and eat to watch the amazing food!

    Incredible architecture
Great to look around. Lots of locals still shopping here. Produce looked very high quality. An incredible building. For tourists, however, there are no places to sit and eat. Breakfast is available in one or two places which is eaten standing up. So look around and then go elsewhere to eat. The market is missing a trick here. Other city markets have started to open bars and eateries so that people can stay.

    Great building
Excellent market in the heart of the old city. Mainly food with everything you would expect to get in Spain, fruit and veg, alcohol, turron, meats, fish, fans etc. It is a great building and is worth a visit to walk around and sample the atmosphere when busy.

    A must
We loved spending the morning at the market. Coffee, pastries, smoothies, fruit, paella… pretty much everything you could want for breakfast/lunch/take away. Definitely recommend. Make sure you are hungry!

    A must see!
This market reminded me of the wet markets in Hong Kong with their fresh sea food, meat produce, veg and fruits. It is definitely a tourist hot spot and prices are accordingly. Nonetheless a must see!

Great city market with everything a foodie might want!
The Seafood selection is amazing! Including oyster shots and you can select your seafood to be cooked at a local restaurant also! And you MUST Wait in line at the Central Bar! It is worth it for gourmet cusine at the counter!

    Kill Time, Grab a Snack!
This is the perfect place to kill time, grab a snack, wander, and sip Vermouth. While definitely touristy we still had a lovely time perusing for gifts and grabbing a bit to eat in between attractions. We recommend!

    A lovely visit
This is a busy, vibrant, colourful and interesting place to visit. There are plenty of stalls offering everything from fresh fish, meat, vegetables, deserts, sweets, drinks, cheese, salami's etc. It's a frustrating place to visit if you are on holidays because all I wanted to do was buy and start cooking - I bought some containers of chopped fruit and that kept me happy. The architecture is lovely and where the market is situated is right in the heart of old Valencia, surrounded by bars and restaurants. Well worth the visit.

Delightful Day of Shopping for Food
They say it's the largest covered market in Europe. It is large and it is a beautiful building with lots of natural light and tile decorations. On a Saturday it was jammed with shopper buying all sorts of foods and food products. We had a great time shopping for ingredients for our dinner. I only wish that our apartment were closer, then I would be here everyday.

Your chance to taste the best Jamon Iberico. Also, you will find all the spices, especially the best combinations for your home paella.

Excellent bustling market with fruit veg cheeses meats etc… you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Be aware of asking the vendors before you touch their produce.
The structure housing the market is beautiful as are most of the buildings in this gorgeous city.
Definitely worth a visit.

Classic city central market with all sorts of food. We bought a large variety of things, on this rare rainy day, to reheat and eat in our air b&b. Maybe our oversight but did not see any comedores (restaurants serving aka dining rooms). Wonderful. Enjoy.

What a fabulous place, the quality and variety of products makes you drool! We were not self-catering, so only bought a few things , Turronn, saffron, chocolate to take home . It has a great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit, and to buy a punnet of strawberries 🍓.

The Central market is huge! The aisles full of fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, nuts, and olives are extraordinary. The selection is one thing, but the freshness is another. Just the colors of each item is special. Traversing this market could take all day. a must see while in Valencia!

Fantastic market, so much to see and buy. We visited every day during our 4 day stay, some days more than once! Fish section is fab. We had oysters, bread, tomatoes, paella, wine. I love that you can buy paella from one stall and take it to the wine stall, buy a glass of wine, and enjoy both together.

This is my favorite place in the city. The architecture of the market building is lovely. Very busy plazas outside with lots of outdoor seating for restaurants. Inside the food display is lovely and the stqff who work the stalls are charming. Can be very crowded.
