Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You walk in and you just want to buy and buy. Stalls selling fish, meat, fruit, nuts, eggs, bread/pastries everywhere. Although this one on the inside is not as pretty as the Mercado Central this one, it is so clean and full of pretty stalls that it only encourages you to shop.

Stayed in an air bnb in El Cabanyal so went to the market for supplies daily.
Loads of really great fresh product.
Loads of cafes and bakeries inside and surrounding area.
Prices are as cheap as chips too.
Real old school working market.

We tried central market and the Rafaza market but this beat them all! Really great atmosphere - tons of chat, great stalls, a wonderful food stall for tapas and beer, gals selling eco stuff, fish vegetables and fruit. I'd say this was the best.
The Cabanyal area is a great place to discover with interesting architecture. We went on a Thursday and discovered a huge section selling Spanish flamenco dresses! Yes I bought one! Not sure if this is every week or now and again and I don't know where you would find out. Best go and find your own experience! BRILLIANT!

Cabanyal is the coastal and beach area of the city. It has a cultural/diversity mix and this market reflects that. It is busy, vibrant and inexpensive. The smells alone make. It worth while visiting. The Spanish like a market. This is no exception.

The market is about half a km from the Las Arenas beach. It has a large fish area, but I especially liked the way how carefully all the fruit was arranged.
I think this is very authentic vs mercat Central that is bigger and shinier. Also the neighborhood looks significantly rougher than the central of the city.

Such a great place with almost only local people. Fresh fish, vegetables, meat, bread, fruit and much more.
Try the Valencian tomatoes, all different kind of jamon and in the summer time the Valencia mussels.

This is the city food market that serves this neighborhood which is by the beaches. It is a practical place to shop for food if you are staying in the area, but otherwise, not the best market in town.

I found this to be just a typical neighborhood covered market serving this seaside part of town. Not a pretty part of town and not a pretty market.

Not the best of the markets in town. I will choose Russafa market as number one. Mercado Central is way to big for me.

hi I have been to cabanyal before but it was only once a week - so I think these reviews are the food market not the weekly market? Anyone know which day the weekly market is - it is based around the cabanyal indoor market. thanks

Hi there
I stumbled upon a fabulous outdoor market there on a Thursday in April selling all sorts and bought myself a Spanish Fiesta dress second hand for 45 euros - great atmosphere!

Si se refiere al mercado del Cabañal, es los jueves, lo que llamamos aquí "El mercadito de los jueves". que por cierto llamarlo "mercadito" es por costumbre porque las paradas se extienden por todas las calles de los alrededores del mercado.
