The caves of Matera should not be missed. For a spot to stop, appreciate the environs and enjoy local produce, the Stone Age Caffe is a must. After spending some time exploring, we noticed a small restaurant situated with a panoramic view of the region. We wanted only some wine and snacks and the staff was helpful in guiding us.... More

There is a little terrace with a panoramic view of the canyon. It is located in Sassi Caveoso, and a very nice place for a short break and a cup of coffee to restore strength and continue wandering around. It is small, 4 tables, but it is very nice and cosy there.

Nice view....friendly staff and great coffee and waffle with fresh fruit. The mixed salad was also f very good quality

Wandering around the hot July sun in Matera, this cafe was a welcome sight. Serving a good choice of drink, bruschetta and ice creams and fresh fruit salads, this offered a perfect break whilst walking around the historic sassi district of Matera.
