This church is beautifully adorned within, and this becomes most obvious as you venture further in to it. You catch a tantalising view of the lower part of the church, which is reached by adjacent steps. There are silver representations of limb and other body parts, thanking the Saint for miracles rendered.

This is a beautiful Church to visit. The architecture and paintings are amazing. If in Sorrento please visit here and go down the stairs to see the statue of St Antony.

We walked into the beautiful church and were overwhelmed with the smell of roses! It stopped us in our tracks and we had to sit down and linger in the beauty. We love visiting the churches in Italy, and this one was absolutely beautiful! The artwork is beautiful, as always. There are also some interesting paintings in the crypt of... More

Basilica di Sant'Antonino has beautiful fresco's and the tomb is in the lower level with unusual silver offering collections.

If you don't go down in the back to the basilica and see the altars and the display by wary, thankful mariners happy to be dpared the perils of the sea, then you're missing most of what is appealing about this site. Also interesting are the silver shaped body parts of those who attribute miracle cures to or implore St... More

From the outside this church doesn't look much although interestingly it has a whale bone by the entrance. Inside however it is very large with lots to look at though sadly if you can't read Italian then it is a little difficult to understand everything in the church. TIP There is a crypt downstairs which is worth a visit.

This has to be a must for all visitors to Sorrento. It is not a large church but it is spectacular. The inlaid marble of the interior is spectacular and the undercroft of the church is filled with votive offerings and pictures of near shipwrecks avoided by the intervention of St Anthony Abate, the patron saint of Sorrento. It doesn't... More

Just walking along the very commercial and shopping street, that is, the Via San Cesareo and proceeding toward the west from the Piazza Tasso, we got before long in the vicinity of this remarkable Basilica di Sant' Antonino. It is located in the Piazza Sant ' Antonino with some little green yard before the building of the church and the... More
