    Hub of Sorrento
We had a great time hanging in the piazza eating gelato and people watching. The stairs to the ferry are here and the bus going down to the port is a block away. The market begins here and cordon Italian runs through the square. One big fun place.

    Lively safe and fun
Such a wonderful Piazza filled with fun shops, the best restaurants and many different gelato shops. This area is hopping day and night. We felt very safe and tried to venture down every alley. We loved staying in Sorrento.

    Sorrento Centre
Piazza Tasso is the centre of Sorrento. A cute, stylish centre with savvy restaurants and Pizzerias, alleys leading to cafeterias and multitude of souvenir shops. A nice place for a relaxing evening

    Bustling Square of Sorrento
This square is the beating heart of the lively, chic Sorrento. Several bars can be found here, as well as views of this gorge-like road and statues of Tasso himself. If you can get yourself here, it makes it very easy to explore the rest of Sorrento.

    Fun place in the evening
Had a wonderful time every evening in this piazza. Very lively and fun place to raise your spirits. Great views of the sea as well. For shopping and window shopping just strolling on the lanes near this piazza is so much fun. Courtesy this experience Sorrento turned out to be much better than what we had expected.

    Crossroads of the Village
This high energy piazza is the place where it all comes together. You can go east or west on Corso Italian where you will find upscale shops, or swerve north onto Via San Cesareo and follow it into the Centro Storico, and get lost in the maze of narrow streets lined with small shops selling trinkets to tourists. Traffic can be heavy in the center with cars and scooters trying to get through. Around the edges you will find many restaurants and cafés where you can sit with a beverage and just enjoy the people watching.

"A great place to Rest, Relax, Refresh & People Watch!!"
This is a busy Piazza which is filled with beautiful and colorful shops, multiple restaurants, bars & pubs, churches, sightseeing spots, carriage rides, and hotels plus all having access to the Marina and train station. There are lemon trees and lemon gardens in abundance and the favorite drink of Sorrento, Limoncello can be found everywhere!! There is main hub called Corso Italia where you can indulge enjoying delicious treats like gelato, shop until you drop, food galore or just relaxing in the park to rest & refresh. The Bell Tower is in the center and a focal point to remembering your location. My husband & I simply love visiting Sorrento and it is a great base to use to explore the other great places like Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri or Anacapri. The ferry ticket office is down by the Marina and it is easy and fairly reasonable to buy tickets for a day trip to any of these destinations. We have done this on several trips to Sorrento and plan to do it again when we visit again.

Our hotel ran a shuttle bus so we were able to venture into the town most days . Lots of good restaurants and shops and bars , my 21 year old son was very happy to discover the F 1 merchandise shop which became an expensive habit . I loved the souvenir and clothing shops which were very reasonable. A visit to both marinas is a must and within walking distance of the town, the smaller one has some lovely sea food restaurants . It was still very warm even in September so could be uncomfortable to walk about in the warmer summer months as it’s a very busy town but we loved the vibe and would definitely return .

    Sorrento is magical
Sorrento is magical. In October we only visited for a couple of hours but i felt in love to the point that i'm going again in May and staying 3 nights. Get your wallet ready and be prepared to shop and eat. The views are also incredible so for sure visit and plan to stay for a couple of days since there is enough to see.

Piazza Tazzo is the certain of town of Sorrento so it's useful to know this as you are choosing your lodging. It's also close to the train station. When we were there in March, many of the cafes and restaurants were not open in the piazza so it would be much more active in the warmer months.

We ennoyed the vibrancy of Piazzo Tasso when we visited in early April, very busy, can't imagine it being any busier. Take caution when crossing the streets. Fauna Restraunt was very popular but lots of bars and restraunts to choose from.
Piazza Tasso is situated on Corsa Italia a large street for shopping and just walking and takeing in it's vibrant atmosphere. Lots of places to stop and eat.

We took a ferry from Naples to Sorrento. It was a pleasant short ride. On arrival we were quite stunned to see that the old town is situated quite high up. We followed the crowd, walked for a short distance to the right and joined a queue to take a lift (small fee for use of lift) up to the street level.

There is a viewing terrace at the Villa Comunale Park, which is a short distance from the lift landing area. You get a breathtaking view of the gulf, the beach and the blue sky. There is also an option to walk up the stairs from the Marina to the Villa Comunale Park, which I will not recommend.

From the Villa Comunale Park we walked to the Piazza Sant Antonio, which is a pretty little square. Piazza Tasso is just a short walk from Piazza Sant Antonio.

From the road bridge at Piazza Tasso, we were rewarded with a stunning view to the Gulf of Naples looking through a steep cliff face as if someone had just sliced away part of the hill. It was just breathtaking!

Sorrento is a charming small town. Not as busy and crowded as Naples. We used it as a stopover to take a bus to Amalfi not knowing that it deserves more time to explore.

We would love to return another time and will spend a night at Sorrento.

Piazza Tasso is the central public square of Sorrento, the Lemon Capital of Italy. Peculiarly, although named after the poet Torquato Tasso, it is the statue of Antonino, the patron saint of Sorrento, that stood at the centre of the square. Surrounding the square are several historic buildings including the Palazzo Correale and Baroque Church of Santa Maria del Carmine. An unmissable feature while you're exploring the square is the viewing terrace with its spectacular view of the gorge cut by the road to Marina Piccola below, with the Gulf of Naples in the background.

This is a scenic piazza in Sorrento with restaurants, bars and shops. There’s also a scenic overlook nearby. Everything in Sorrento is within walking distance. Easy to get to by car or train. Just a gorgeous town that we fell in love with.

Lot's to see and do here at the center of town. There is a staircase to the bottom by the sea and there are many narrow streets with so many shops and small restaurants. It's a pleasure to wander around.

The plaza is open and spacious and the traffic is tamed by a number of pedestrian only streets that feed into it. The overlook down to the sea is not to be missed since Sorrento sits on a chasm that is divided in half. The restaurants that surround the plaza are very good, filled with tourists who all speak English, and serve food that is not overpriced. Go and enjoy the scene.
