Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Capri is simply a honey trap with little to offer unless you are planning to empty your bank account . The Public bus service is a complete failure. It is cheap but there are simply far too few buses to cope with the numbers. We waited over an hour for a bus from Marina Grande to Anacapri which pushed people to pay €35 or more for a taxi compared with the €2.40 for the bus. A similar wait for a bus back to Capri ! The funicular is a tad better and its age and design severely limits passenger flow. Other than the chair lift (excellent) and Villa Jovis the rest of the island is simply designed to extract cash from your pocket. A simple lunch for three was inflated from €50 to €80 by cover charge, water charge and inflated beer prices!!
I’ve been three times, staying the first time in 1996 at the Quisisana for a conference. I would not return unless a very specific reason

My husband and I popped in to ask a simple question about Villa Jorvis being open or not before we walked all the way up there. The older woman with brown hair behind the desk started ranting in response, something about 'rich men', which made no sense to us. We asked again, in case we had been unclear and her rant continued. When we asked a third time she became offensive and insulting towards me, which was completely uncalled for. We left. Thankfully her colleague (male with glasses) gave us an instant and professional answer, but her viciousness cast a shadow on our trip to this beautiful island.

Very rude and offensive woman at the tourist office. If you are Italian she will answer your questions. I'm English and asked a simple question only to be given vile abuse in return. Very poor first impression of Capri.

We just went into the tourist office, and it occurred to me that the woman behind the desk was quite strange. My partner is Asian and I am Caucasian. Next thing, she waved her hands around her eyes and said to my partner, "we don't want your type here." Then she looked at me and said, "yes, you're alright, and then gave a nonsensical answer to a question I didn't ask. My partner was clearly offended and asked her name and was about to let fly, but I was quick to drag him away because there was no doubt in my mind, she needs help.

We went to tourist office to get some information. There was a woman who wasn't interested of tourist at all.
She was quite lazy to answer to our questions. She didn't show any interest to talk with us and she had no interest to help us not at all.
Really very bad experience, we didn't get the information at all. It seems there is very wrong person to this work.

The Tourist Office is on your right on the breakwater when you get off the ferry. Helpful staff who readily answered all our questions and gave us a detailed map of Capri, free of charge.
