About
Football fans will want to make a pilgrimage to this striking mural in Quartieri Spagnoli, the first and one of the most iconic murals honoring the legendary soccer player, Diego Maradona. Painted in 1990 by a local fan and artist, the three-story-tall mural stands next to a shrine, where fans from all over the world pay their respects and leave memorabilia. Experience the Maradona mania in the rest of Napoli—there are more murals, bars, shops, altars, and even a stadium that honor his legacy. It's best experienced on a walking tour, which will take you to other historic sights and food in Naples. – Tripadvisor

Mandatory stop if you are a football fan.
From personal experience I recommend going as soon as you arrive in the city because the road to get there is quite uphill.
The purchase of the Napoli shirt is a must. Also given the affordable costs

A long climb from Via Toledo, but it deserves. The narrow streets around make the city of the past relive, among scents of laundry and cooking, and then land in the square that makes Maradona's heart still beat. Do not miss the "Neapolitan staples" that the lady of the building above the street, cooks at home and lowers with the basket from her terrace for a few euros. An experience to live

I'm no fan of Maradona but appreciate his talent and skill and what he did for Napoli, I have no idea how I found this thing it is up the top of a side alley and is an impressive art work on the wall, you can buy souvenirs, lay wreaths, flowers, photos and candles here. Never seen anything like it anywhere in the world for another player. Spent 10 minutes here that's all and I found it purely by chance

Suggestive atmosphere.A real "sanctuary" for Neapolitan fans and not only. In addition to the famous Maradona on the facade of Mr. Ciro's house, there are many other murals.
We also met the talented artist Pablo Gimenez intent on painting, really a wonderful encounter. In 5 days of stay in Naples we saw it several times, especially because my son Francesco, a Napoli fan was enchanted every time.
Mandatory stop for those going to Naples!

Strolling around the old city and the Spanish Quarter was one of my favourite experiences in Italy.. Eating the Napolitan pizza, enjoying the amazing street art including an original Banksy, and getting some amazing quirky crafted home decor items and figurines. If you are an Argentina football fan, you'll fall in love with Napoli... Maradona is still alive and Kicking in every corner of Napoli. The best word to describe the place is Grunge (it's rough, and dirty but filled with nice people). As an advise, try to use public transport as much as you can and avoid Taxis.

Impressive the "veneration" that the Neapolitans have towards Diego. every corner of the city speaks of him, every shop has something of its own, people love him. The area of the mural has become a pilgrimage destination for all football fans even of opposing teams with the creation of a real altar at whose feet pay homage with some thoughts (scarves, messages, etc.). Words does NOT make the feeling you feel.

It's incredible what Diego Armando Maradona was for Naples. After his sudden death he was somehow sanctified. It is fitting that a sanctuary rather than a mural has been dedicated to him in the heart of the characteristic Spanish neighborhoods. It is worth going there regardless of whether you are a football fan or a lover of the character Maradona (football-wise it is impossible to dispute this) given that it has now become one of the major attractions of Naples especially after last year's splendid scudetto. On Sunday a myriad of people.

All the folklore and all the Neapolitan spirit in front of one of the Neapolitan deities. Small square but destination of pilgrims to burp the world. Pubs, stalls and shacks all around in an area that in my teens was forbidden to most and that today is teeming with tourism and economy that turns. Bene!

Not to be thrilled when visiting the famous altar of Maradona in the old center of Naples. It is very strong the emotion you feel when you arrive, see all the photos, memories, statues, merchandising, paintings, etc, etc... it is incredible the love that a town has for its ultimate football idol of the city that has given them so many joys.
It is worth walking around and feeling the excitement of visiting this precinct made exclusively for the idol of the city.

Went on a day trip to Naples from Sant Agnello in Aug 2022 and went to see this Murial. One of things football fans will need to do when in Naples despite the Hand of God 1986 "goal". There is no charge. We stayed around 20 minutes which is sufficient. Probably best player in my lifetime in my opinion. Its more of a photo opportunity than anything else. You can buy football shirts, t-shirts etc if you wish to. Located just off the main Toledo Shopping Street in Naples, easish to find, up some narrow streets. Save the location in google maps before you go. We felt safe when we went, no issues. There was crowd of approx. 50 persons when we reached around 11.30am but not overbearing. Had a Margaherita Pizza afterward in a restaurant close-by of which there are plenty to complete the Naples experience.
