The plaza is huge with a few impressive surrounding buildings but just not a whole lot of activity for such a large open area. It was November and a bit rainy so maybe it’s more active in the summer.

This is a large open space in front of the Royal Palace and the large Basilica with outstretched porticoes wrapping around much of the square. It is a very large area and with the close proximity of so many tourist attractions you are sure to...More

Another amazing place in this wonderful City. We literally stumbled upon this huge square by walking up from the Santa Lucia area. It leads to the start of Toledo & all the lovely coffee shops & the Theatre. Simply beautiful!

Everything is symmetric there. Doors to each building are build in perfect 180 angle to other door, but that's all. I was a little disappointed with value of Basilica and Palace Royale. The are simply ok. Greetings for old Italian guy singing a karaoke in...More

Piazza Del Plebiscito. The King of Naples, Murat (Napoleon's brother-in-law), planned the square and building as a tribute to the emperor. It was renamed in 1860 when a referendum brought the City State of Naples into the unified Kingdom of Italy under the House of...More

This huge square free from traffic is sparse and surrounded by historic buildings that are too beautiful to ignore. The kids loved running around the huge square (not too many places you can do that in Naples) whilst we admired the majestic buildings and statues.
