    Take out the "facsimilies"!
Nice museum, but too much artefacts wasn't on places, borrowed to other museums and replaced with "facsimilies". These replacements are horrible, cause they looks photoshoped - very bright, very stand out near real things. It was disappointing.

    Amazing artifacts, noisy experience
There are some absolutely stunning pieces to admire at this museum. It is relatively expensive to enter (22 Euro) compared with other sites in Naples. There must, however, be a reduction for school trips as the place is absolutely rammed with them. Smaller children with matching colourful hats dash around in the morning, in the afternoon, sullen teens skulk around and smoke in the gardens. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a grand piano in the echoing entrance hall for all those children to play on needs to be forced to listen to the racket they make. The museum is huge and it isn't easy to find where to go if you want to see something specific. There is an online map, but the wi-fi wasn't working when I was there, so it was inaccessible (no 'phone signal could penetrate all that stone). Recommended if you're filled with fortitude.

    Marvellous
We visited this museum before Pompeii which helped me imagine the grandeur of the city when we were there a couple of days later. This museum is full of enormous statues and gorgeous mosaics. There are Picasso drawings that accompany some of the sculptures and statues as well, which added more interest. This museum is the best combination of history and art.

    One of the very best
This museum alone is worth visiting Naples for, I'd put it in same class as the Capitoline Museums in Rome and the National Archeological Museum in Athens. Best known for mosaics and frescoes from Pompeii and Herculaneum (e.g. Alexander mosaic in House of the Faun) and for classical sculptures (e.g. the Farnese collection).

A must do while in Naples
I visited here mainly to see the relics and artifacts connected to Pompeii. That alone was fascinating and so detailed, but the rest of the museum was so well laid out it was hard not to visit. You really do need to allow at least a half day to get around, but the whole museum is so easy the navigate, that the rooms just flow into each other. There are plenty of public toilets and a very well stocked and reasonably priced cafeteria serving both hot and cold food. The museum is well placed for public transport, in fact its right next-door to the main train station. I used a 3 day pass which included Pompeii, The museum, and Herculaneum in the price, which I found to be very good value

    Incredible
A wonderful museum with many beautiful sculptures & art pieces. You are surrounded by stunning history. There are lots of rooms but there’s only a digital map available & the internet doesn’t work inside. I was surprised that there was no air con in the middle of July, which made the experience not very pleasant.

    Huge!
After so much walking, I was already a bit tired when I got to the MANN. The museum is huge! I therefore focussed my time. I spent most of my time on the top floor in the Pompei section. I am still so impressed by the vivid colors on the paintings that were saved. Having been to the all white Pompei the day before, it was quite odd to imagine it so colorful in its real time. I also have to admit that I really enjoyed the secret cabinet rooms on the second floor. (which was the busiest section I saw ;-) ). I was trying to imagine how open things were at the time for that neighborhood with such grafic art to have existed. Finally, I look at the very tall sculptures because I find them so impressive. The Farnese Hercules and Bull are stunning. Worth the visit, but plan a bit beforehand.

Just remember, you’re looking at stuff 2,000 years old!!
This is a large collection. If you want to do it justice it will take much more than 2 hours. Give it 4! You can buy an audio tour; although this is useful, they need to have more audio points. I think we only really saw about 5 - they need to invest more in this. We were there to see the relics from Pompeii and Herculaneum and we were not disappointed, they are incredible. How did such stuff survive in such a condition and how did the archaeologists managed to clean it up so well. We really enjoyed our visit - we probably covered less than half of the exhibits in 3 hours.

    Amazing Art
The National archaeological Museum Naples has an amazing collection. The monumental sculptures are nothing short of spectacular. We visited the museum on September 30, 2023. The only disappointment was that due to some kind of of technical difficulties, the first floor, which contains mosaics was closed. Therefore, we were unable to see the Alexander Mosaic. They didn’t say how long that section will be closed. It is still worth visiting.

Huge museum with a fascinating collection, especially all the Pompeii pieces. The other Egypt, Roman, and Greek collections were a very nice surprise.

Great museum. With ArteCard the admission is free. Be prepared to spend here quite a lot of time. More information about the exhibits would be helpful.

The museum added to our experience of Herkulaneum and Pompei (1st floor, left side). And you step into a museum out of the 80ties. The quality of the exhibition is nowhere near the 21st century and therefor the entry price way to high. That's why only three stars.

Cloakroom theoretical yes as the attendant only accepts large pieces of luggage but no coats or umbrellas. Lockers also theoretical as none are available. So you carry all your stuff through the museum.

At some places exhibits are obviously missing on the wall or you pass empty vitrines. No information what or why.

Since at least Juli 23 they are now working on the mosaic of Alexander. At least this information is on the website. Also on the website are the various tickets. Two single adults make a family which is slightly cheaper. But! they are only valid on the day whereas an ordinary entry is valid for two consecutive days. This you only learn after you bought your family ticket.

Toilets as usual: no seats, three of five out of order in men's. Soap yes, but walk away with wet hands.

A breathtaking place. We were a bit in a hurry so had just one hour and our goal was to check the artifacts saved from Pompeii. There’s so much to see, one could easily spend here a full day, if not even more!

I was expecting to see lots of artefacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum but other than pots, silverware and a few mosaics there didn't seem to be anything on show. I waw really hoping it would bring our Pompeii visit to life given that there was nothing other than ruins there. Very disappointing given the price. the cafe was nice though.

We were especially interested in the pieces from Pompei. Unfortunately, the entire first floor was closed, so some of these items were missed. Some had been repositioned to an upper floor, so could still be seen.

This museum was fascinating! Room after room of treasures found at Pompei and surrounding ancient greek and roman archaeological sites. The artefacts were divided by type: collections of perfect 2000 year old glassware, etruscan ceramics, intricate jewellery as well as marble statues and even an exhibition of near perfect mosaics from Pompei. I was tired at the end of a long day exploring Naples, but kept being tempted into the next room!

This museum's premise is really cool, but I would have liked to have more information about the objects on display. We were halfway through it before we realized that almost all the artifacts were recovered from Pompeii, which made it a lot more interesting. They have a range from giant statues to everyday household objects; there was just very little written information to explain what we were looking at. It was hard to navigate the museum as I felt that the signage was vague and there were no maps available - it took me a long time to find the restroom. It was also sweltering inside with no A/C or even a fan. I'm glad I visited but if I am back in Napoli I would rather visit the Pompeii site itself.

this museum is undoubtedly a must-visit place. Going early in the morning & pre booking the tickets online is highly recommended so as to avoid long queue and waiting time
