Hubby and I spent about six hours exploring the historical center of Naples. True there are dozens of historically relevant monuments and structures which are obviously important and, in some cases, quite beautiful. But the ambiance is trashy. Locals will run you over with their scooters while tearing through pedestrian areas, or honk the horn repeatedly till you move. People... More

The historic center of the city is a series of constant surprises. Just when you think that you finally get used to all those smells, noises, chaos and hectic atmosphere around you, you will stumble upon something new and completely different than anything else you can see in any other Italian city. You can love it or hate it, there... More

A historic centre of Naples leaves you totally shocked with its loads of cultural and historic items. You have to have much more time to see it all.

Wandering through the streets and alleys of the Centro Storico is an experience like no other. Not like Rome, nor Venice, nor Florence. It has its own fast pace, grittiness, sounds, and smells. Everything absolutely drips with history and chaos. Its fascinating to behold. Around each corner are surprises, mostly old ones, that will make you wonder how this place... More

You have to stroll along the streets of Spaccanapoli and the quartieri spagnoli. You will get an original feel of the "real" Napoli. Only advice, watch out for your belogings.

Roads 3 or 6 metres wide, this how life was like in the medieval past. But now a lot cleaner and a very lot less smelly. Roads devoted to one product or one occupation. Just imagine a whole street devoted to nativity scenes or leather handbags (even man bags). Thoughily interesting and captivating. Try one of the free walking trips... More

Centro Storico of Naples, if visited by daylight, is a nice place to stroll, have your coffee or lunch. It has a main street (via Toledo), several cathedrals, a palace and a citadel. If you get outside of this parameter, you will be lost in dirty narrow streets and chaotic traffic

You will like to stroll around this place. It is very open and there are children playing on the steps of the monument. There were a few dogs running and playing as well. A few local children ran up to me and told me not to take their photos when I was making a video. After I spoke to them,... More
