Quite amazing

This cathedral wasn't too far from our hotel and city centre. Definitely worth a visit to take in the art work within.

As an atheist with a weakness for old Churches, this is truly a beautiful example of the heights artists can reach when they are inspired by a sense of the transcendental.

Again a beautiful church displaying all the opulence & wealth of the buildings at that time. There's lots to see here & it's definitely worth a visit. As others have said this church nestles within the busy bustling city of Naples where life moves at a fast pace. This is a little serenity within.

you can't imagine that you will find this huge place, is just in the middle of a very bussy street so the tight streets and tall ancient buildings will not allow you to see it from the distance; there is an specific schedule (8:00 - 12:30 & 16:30 - 19:00) so you can spend maybe 30 minutes just walking around... This is a beautiful grand cathedral and well worth the visit. I was fortunate enough to visit here on Christmas Eve which was even a little more special, with the famous Neapolitan Nativity Scene and other things, but otherwise it was a very beautifully run church to visit. They seem very used to tourists and visitors, but at the same... More

I can not add any special or personal remark to the description provided by tourit guides. Next to the duomo there is a fine book shop and aclergycal clothes shop. If I were a potential nominee, I would certainly visit it.

Regardless of your religious conviction, this Cathedral is one outstanding piece of arquitecture. I remember as a teenager would often go and play street soccer when would skip school, and the next day I'd go in to ask St. Gennaro to help me get good notes!

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is a monumental basilica and cathedral and headquarters of ' Archdiocese of the city of Naples. The cathedral is located on the east side of the homonymous street , in a small square surrounded by arcades. Three times a year the rite of the dissolution of the blood of san Gennaro .

As an avid visitor of Cathedrals all over the World this one rates fairly highly. In a good state of repair, big and airy with very interesting 'Side' Chapels - actually Churches in their own right this is a must see for Church/Religious building visitors.

This one has defenitely taken my breath away with its enormous construction and richness inside. So much different parts of cathedral and it all looks marvellous. Don't hesitate to get inside.
