This imposing castle was built in 1279 and underwent several modifications through the centuries. It is surrounded by deep moats, has five cylindric towers, majestic entrance doors and archway, and is generally well preserved. The historic center of Naples grew around this castle. The castle...More

The Castel Nuovo dominates the port of Naples. The doors into the castle are very old and beautifully carved. There is a charge for the art exhibition but the castle itself is free to visit. There are information boards in each room which we found...More

This was very disappointing, the place certainly has potential as a top tourist attraction but is perhaps not being run very well, which is a shame. I found it rather boring, when it shouldn't have been. I'm no art critic but I also found the...More

Really a beautiful castle!! I would advise him to visit with a guide to appreciate it! Walking inside is like a journey back in time of monarchy, when in Italy there was the Kingdom of the two Sicilies.

The outside is great, mainly the towers and the door. But going inside is the worse error in Napoli. Nothing to see. Almost no view to the sea. We cannot visit the towers, ... and its 6€. I wonder who is taking this money ...

Because we were told that we could see more rooms of the castle with a guide we decided to do so. Fabiana is a voluntary guide (from Timeline Napoli) who is full of energy and willing to tell you all the details of the history...More

Very interesting tour by our guide Fabiana. She tried to involve the younger members of our group in the more gripping bits of the castle's history. We visited on quite a busy day but did not need to wait long before we were taken around....More

The castle from far looks very impressive and it is. It is large and when you get up close you realize just how big. From the outside it is very domineering of the surrounding area. It is also visible from the town as well as...More
