Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We saw the Basilica again after some time in the company of friends who were visiting the archaeological park for the first time.
Majestic and imposing, it electrifies the gaze in a bewitching and evocative way.
The still well-maintained columns are fantastic.
To be seen!

This building meets on the right after entering from the entrance of Portamarina superiore E proceeding in the direction of the forum. Extremely well preserved, you can admire the columns of the portico and at the time of the ancient Pompeii it served as a court and a covered forum. At the beginning of the visit to the excavations it is definitely worth visiting

One of the largest structures in Pompeii (65m x 24m) as well as one of the oldest (120 - 78BC), standing at the edge of the Forum, it is possible to walk around inside the Basilica admiring its central nave and two side aisles with their multitude of massive columns.

This is better preserved than the other two temples at the Forum. And its close proximity to the Porta Marina entrance means that it will be on your itinerary even if you don't want to do a lot of walking in Pompeii.

The basilica is located right off the main forum and a fantastic example from 120-75BC. Given the situation the building is in great shape and would have been a place of legal nature before basilicas became places of worship.

My wife and I did a guided tour of the ruins at Pompeii and really enjoyed the experience. The remains of the Basilica were particularly mesmerising.

A basilica was originally a legal court, after which it was used as a place of worship. This one is missing its roof, but the rest is in good shape.
