We spent a delightful 3 hour tour of Pompeii with Francesca, a knowable and entertaining art historian. The place, its history and art came alive through her explanations and descriptions. We highly recommend her private tour to understand and navigate the site.

Booked a private 2 hour tour of Pompeii with Guide Pompeii for our family group of 10 people which included some children and teenagers. Our guide Marialibera gave us a memorable tour . Her tour captured our attention and left us with a sense that we would all like to return to Pompeii again in the future. Thank you Maily for an unforgettable experience!

A guide is really important in order to fully appreciate the ruins and get a proper sense of what life was like. However, we weren’t taken to many of the main sites eg the amphitheatre or to see the casts of the victims, so after the tour we had to go and see them by ourselves without any information given on them (although I appreciate the ruins are huge and you can’t see everything, these are definitely bits worth going to). Also the website did not make it clear that despite paying quite a lot for a tour of the site the actual entry tickets are not even included.

Daniela is an amazing tour guide for Pompii. She gave us so much information in the 2 hours we spent with her. Her knowledge of Pompeii and Naples is impressive. We enjoyed learning about early civilization and would do it again because she has sparked our interest and now we have more questions!

on suggestion of my Italian friend from Milano, we booked a guided tour (3h) at Pompeii with the Guide Pompei company.
the reservation went smoothly, they tried to help the best way they can.
we asked for an English speaking guide. we got connected with Carmine Volpe, living nearby Pompeii and speaking fluidly English.
he gave the necessary instructions to make the access to Pompeii smoothly.
Carmine has a lot of experience and made our visit very lively with his historical facts. Also he gave us the time to take some pictures.
for my family, without any latin background from school, this way Pompeii became very interesting.
it was worthy its price

I can’t recommend this enough. I went to Pompei 3-4 times on my own or with friends and always loved it but this time decided to take a guide and we weren’t disappointed.
Went for the two hour visit with Benedetto who was really good. Very attentive, great English, and some amazing stories and anecdotes. You do feel like you’ve have seen so many things and have learnt about so many things even though it’s been two hours. It’s well worth the money.

A private tour guide is a must when you visit Pompeii!! We had a wonderful experience with our private tour guide, Daniela Mantice, arranged by Sweet Private Tours. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and took us directly to the most significant points of interest in the vast site of Pompeii. We found it fascinating as she showed us on her iPad how the various locations would have appeared during daily activities prior to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Daniela filled our visit with interesting historical facts. Our private tour of Pompeii saved us hours of wandering which, allowed us to enjoy a beautiful hike up the rim of Mt. Vesuvius and delightful lunch at Mt. Vesuvius Winery and Cantina on that same day.

First, a guided tour is really a must unless you're an archeologist specializing in Roman artifacts. The Pompei soye is huge and there are so many interesting stories, alleys, and niches. These folks are top of the line and while they may seem expensive they are the real deal and worth the money. We did a tour of Pompei and Heraculaneum lasting from 10 AM to 5 PM with a break for lunch and transfer to the second site. Our guide, Antonio M. was amazing. He answered every question. He made the ruins come alive with the hustle and bustle of Roman merchants and their families and slaves. We've had private guides in Egypt, France and India, and he was clearly a stand out. Very highly recommended.

Our family of five booked Guide Pompei for a guided tour of Pompeii and Ercolano (Herculaneum) and a driver. Booking was very easy. Our cruise ship was supposed to dock in Salerno, but had to change to Naples. I emailed the company the day before and our booking was easily changed. Gennaro, our driver, met us on the dock and the car was comfortable and clean. We met Antonio outside of Pompeii and we had such a good time with him. I had bought tickets online from Tiquets beforehand which made things easy. Antonio is funny, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Since it was our first visit to Pompeii and Ercolano, a private guide was definitely the way to go. We would have missed so much without Antonio. Visiting both Pompeii and Ercolano on the same day really made history come alive for us. Gennaro and Antonio gave us a recommendations of where to eat, and we had a great lunch. It was a long and satisfying day for us and if we visit again, we would book another tour!
