These ruins were far more vast than I had realized. It is a must see for anyone who can get there. We did a tour with greenline tours which I wouldn't recommend. Our tour guide for Pompeii was good but the shops along the way were not. Try another tour operator or take the train to maximize your time there.... More

It's hard not to be excited about visiting one of the world's must see places, and it lived up to all the hype. 6 hours of walking and taking in the ambience and majesty of the place has made me even more glad i came. If you are going make sure you know what you want to see, make sure... More

Amazing uncovered city of Pompeii and the Forum where citizens gathered. Can walk the streets of this ancient city and see many unique frescoes and walls still decorated with life scenes. Fascinating Interesting History comes alive.

This place stunned me when we entered. They actually dug this entire city and the outcome is this. Now we can have a first hand experience what it was like during that time. The city did not disappoint us at all. There seems to be several areas the Italians are excavating at the time of our visit. No modern machinery,... More

Last time we visited the ruins of ancient Pompeii was about 20 years ago, but it was still so fascinating when we were facing this world’s most engrossing archaeological experiences once again. Although this Rome civilization town suffered from the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in the year 79 AD, you can easily find sights where there are remarkably well-preserved slices... More

The forum is a major stopping point in the ruins/excavations. There was (possible still is) an ongoing exhibit of new art (mostly metal) which is staged throughout the Forum and Tempio de Venere. As I mentioned in another review of Pompeii, a guide is key to seeing Pompeii. And plan a lot of time. Seeing the Forum is only a... More

This was one on the top o our list to see and didn't disappoint. Was good to have a guide to show us certain things that I am sure we would have missed if we had wandered on our own. Amazing what they have found here - it has been a beautiful old town with great architecture. Don't miss it.

Everything about this tour was wonderful. City Center tours ( formally Dark Rome tours), greeted us at the meeting point, loaded up the buses and we were off. Anna and Allesandra, our guides, were knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. Once in Pompeii, they accompanied us on the tour led by a local man who passed on more information about... More
