Review of: Pompeii Out of Traffic
Great guide who can answer any question thrown at him. It was our 2nd visit to Pompeii, last time also using him as our guide. It was amazing to go around all these ancient ruins, but without Giuseppe it wouldn't be half as fun (or understandable). Amazing choice for a tour around Pompeii.…

Booked licensed guide Pina Esposito for a day including a morning at Pompeii, and an afternoon tour of the old section of Naples, and so delighted with the experience. We like to walk and are comfortable with public transportation, so we chose not to engage a driver for the day. With Pina, we took the train from Naples to Pompeii and had a good opportunity to talk before arriving. She is is very knowledgeable, good-humored, and engaging. She scaled and paced our time with her very well, and was responsive to our interests. This was in no way a “canned” tour. Payment per her instructions worked well. Highly recommended. She’s terrific.…

Luisa was a truly excellent guide for my daughter (15) and I. It is quite simple, most of us only ever this site once in our lives, so it is worth doing well. Luisa was really very good, she has extensive knowledge of course, but she has an excellent ability to engage a teenager for 2 hours. I am a teacher so my admiration was even greater. Her driver, Giuseppe was very safe and nice. I seriously recommend both of them. Andy Fox…

We visited Pompeii and Herculaneum (Ercolano) with Giuseppe Galano of VisitPompeii as a guide. What a difference a guide can make! Giuseppe was deeply knowledgeable about both sites, including the history of the archeological exploration and the history of life there. He was so truly enthusiastic about both that it was a pleasure to listen and learn. No trite little stories. Just a fascinating discussion backed by a thorough knowledge of architecture, engineering and art. He made the complexity of the information he was sharing understandable by continually reminding us of the themes: similarities from one house or site to the next, improvements in architecture through the years, life among the rich and life among the poorer. I'd come again in February. No crowds, no lines but beautiful, temperate weather. If I had to choose between Pompeii and Herculaneum, I'd choose both. But if I REALLY had to choose, I'd choose Herculaneum, as long as I could tour with Giuseppe again.…
