This house was closed during my visit but I could see the faun across the main door, this is a very small sculpture but also a very detail one,

The House of Fauno is very nice to visit, I don't know if the bronze statue of the Fauno is a copy; the Fauno is a roman god, he protected the fields and the herd; he has horns and foots as a goat, he seems like the god Pan, and is a charming fable creature and delighted.

The House of the Faun is well worth the high ratings it gets from all the professional writers and critics who have visited over the centuries, as well as the countless tourists. From the delicate statue of a satyr in the atrium to the magnificent 3D cuboid mosaic pavement and on to the world famous mosaic of the battle of... More

North off the Forum Pompeii and Terme del Foro is located the House of the Faun built about the 2nd century BC. In the Roman times that was one of the largest private residences in Pompeii. Here, then existed many great pieces of art. Also it represented one of the most luxurious aristocratic houses from the Roman republic. The central... More

Most beautiful (small) statue of the faun in the garden. Do make a point of finding the house and looking at the faun. There are mosaic floors to see as well.

There is enough of this villa remaining to give the visitor an idea of how the other half lived in this ancient city.

This is one of the first curated houses after the baths to the north of the forum area. It is one of the earliest curated parts of the site and other posts will confirm that it is worth seeing. What follows is a bit of gratuitous shopping information for people looking for something a little different and of good quality.... More

Most impressive villa in Pompeii. Nice mosaics. Even by todays standards it would be a very big house.

Even if you go just for the statue (which, by the way, is a copy, the original is kept in Naples museum), it’s worth it!
