Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Organized trip by train from Rome. Too bad that the Formia Gaeta stop is not Gaeta which is about 10 km away but is in Formia...
It is impossible from the train station to take the first shuttle that arrives at the port and then wait for the bus that takes you to the center of Gaeta. The only quick solution is a taxi...at a high price.
Small uphill village with some nice artisan shops..
Very beautiful sea but for a day trip it's not worth it...

It is a nice little medieval fort and sea-side town.

When I visited (mid April) almost every restaurant, shop or hotel was closed. So I enjoyed my time (2 days) walking and reading in the shade... I am so happy I had a book with me, otherwise I would definitely feel bored

Beautiful place, crystal clear sea and beaches all clean and particular. From seeing the beach "three hundred steps", it seems to be in a wild place. The only flaw, which unites it with other tourist resorts, the parking that becomes a stress in the various movements. In the center some do not accept the card and the cost is 2€ l hour and 1.50 every fraction of an hour.

City that has grown too quickly with some excellent initiatives, especially for young people. However, there are some critical issues that could turn away tourists, exaggerated costs, blue stripes everywhere (and skyrocketing prices), Serapo beach abandoned to the diktats of some establishment managers, etc. tourists must be pampered in order to return or generate positive publicity.

The view from the mountain is superb...the town is not clean and the residents are noisy...the shopkeepers seem to be disturbed every time we want to buy something...the beach is is the pompom! Almost the entire beach has a fee, there is still a tiny place where it is a free beach, it's still an abuse! Disappointed with this stay 😔

I worked for about 20 in Lazio, my children were born in this region and now that I have returned to my city Naples, in Lazio I only have my holiday home in Gaeta.
Gaeta, has a beautiful sea, with numerous equipped beaches, is a city that offers holiday opportunities valid for all ages, from children, teenagers, adults and seniors.
In the past I have traveled to numerous holiday resorts but the varieties of offer present in Gaeta I could not find in any of the other places. Happy holidays.

We arrive on a rainy day, which makes everything complicated. It's Tuesday and we discover that many places will be open only on weekends. So we visit only the Angevin castle and the split mountain.
We promise to return with the sun.
And then Gaeta gives us all its charm, especially thanks to the boat trip around the peninsula, a truly unmissable experience
But it is Friday and again we stay outside many churches (for example the Temple of St. Francis) and we can not even discover the beautiful bell tower of the cathedral.
A real shame!

The visit of Gaeta was a wonderful surprise, a beautiful town full of history and with a truly crystal clear sea. It is beautiful to get lost in the medieval area and walk along the marina
The only sore point are the numerous cars and mopeds that run around the center
