Serenity between the Metro and Colosseum
Dec 2018 • Solo
To the right as you exit the Metro station, the fountain sits, facing the Colosseum, ignored by most.
If you focus on the sound of the water, it can drown out the sound of the crowd — the visitors, the trinket hawkers, the selfie stick renters, et al. — if only for a brief moment.

A fountain
Jun 2017 • Couples
This is just another fountain, but nothing really to be excited about. It is quite simple, consisting of a kind of sarcophagus-like marble container with a couple of cherubs and a lion's head at the top with a spout where the water is coming out from. It is located next to the Colosseo Metro, opposite the Colosseum. The water is fine, but you will spend a lot more time in the Colosseum, after looking at the fountain for about 35 seconds.

Little fountain composed of a lion's head and an ancient Roman sarcophagus
Oct 2016 • Couples
This is a small fountain in an arched niche near the Colosseo metro stop. Water flows from a metal spigot in a lion's mouth into the ancient Roman sarcophagus below. The sarcophagus is graced by two winged cherubs on either side, and has a small rondel with a badly worn human figure. The fountain could use a little tender love and care (some repairs clearly visible), and the long metal spigot detracts from the overall aesthetic attractiveness. The water, however, is very cold and refreshing.
