On the first trip for our girls, and my parents, to Rome we took the Gelato & Italian Biscotti (under Kids & Families) together. My wife and I have done more than a couple cooking classes in Paris, as well as other cities, and we find they fall into two categories: 1) Professional organizations that try to teach method, as in proper method, of achieving a desired result. 2) "Home" feel cooking that is less about method.
In my opinion having an excellent teacher, we had Davide, teaching you method is better. After one has method down, then one can experiment in a more free-form manner. Method, however, is the base upon which everything is understood and built. A fine baker (or cook) must have the basic method down before they start experimenting.
InRome provides this foundation to (primarily) the adults in this class, while the kids have fun making a few wonderful desserts. The whole time answering questions that arise and offering help (when needed) for people while explaining why such a thing may be necessary.

We booked a privat lunch event making Roman pastas with David and had a wonderful time. It was very close to our hotel centrally located next to the Pantheon and my kids had a lot of fun making pasta…the event was just right for the four of us (me and my 3 kids age 10,12,16). Not too long and busy enough to keep all entertained.
I look forward coming back with a group of adults - during an evening session to enjoy some wine and mingle…

This was our fourth time cooking with InRome Cooking, three of which have been virtual classes which have been some of the best cooking experiences we have had. This most recent class was with Chef Davide and he guided us through making cheese tortellini and a molten chocolate cake. Although both of these were very difficult dishes to make, Chef Davide made it feel easy and fun and was very clear in his instructions. In the end, our pasta turned out amazing and the chocolate cake was delicious. I highly recommend InRome Cooking and we will absolutely be booking another class with them soon!

I honestly believe that His Holiness should consider inviting all the world leaders to Castel Gondalfo for InRome Cooking’s pasta making class. After experiencing what my wife and I did, they will all leave the Pope’s summer residence as friends, forgetting all past differences, united in the common goal of insuring that every person on this planet has their fill of good Italian food. Peace through pasta!
We were fortunate to take in three other InRome Cooking offerings: the Pizza and Gelato Class, the Market Shopping Gnocchi, Parmesan, Pana Cotta Class, and the Private Pompeii Tour. This was in May of last year and it’s taken me eleven months to write this review. I felt incapable of doing justice to the entire staff who created for us such wonderful memories; warm and gracious is how we would describe all of them. Our three chefs (Filippo, Francisco and Davide) were all charming and attentive and seemed determined that we would not leave without getting it all right. The tour of the palace and gardens of Castel Gondalfo Marino gave us was amazing and extensive. We appeared to have the whole place to ourselves. Can’t believe we were in the Pope’s bedroom and office. Our driver to Pompei, Maximo, pocked us up at our hotel at the exact scheduled time in his very comfortable Mercedes and took good care of us the entire day. Our tour guide in Pompei, Annatalia (who grew up in Pompei), was delightful and informative. An advantage of the private tour is that it allows Annatalia to be flexible and avoid the crowded areas. The wine and food tasting tour was also a lot of fun and educational.
We often recall our times with InRome Cooking especially when we prepare one of the dishes we learned to make. When travel is again allowed, we will return.

2017 was when my wife and I visited Rome and we took part in the Pizza and Gelato class.
The Gnocchi Virtual Class 29.3.21 was such great fun and fantastic. The confirmation email was great as I was able to get everything ready and not panic before the class. I even had time to peal the skin off my potatoes and chop my tomatoes whilst Chef Max and Nonna Theresa was talking through the class. There was no stress or rushing and you could ask questions throughout the class. I was nervous as previously to this class I followed a recipe in a book and it was a disaster. My wife although never tried it previously and also apprehensive, enjoyed the end result. What was one of the best aspects to tonight's class was when Chef Max and Nonna Theresa stopped what they were doing and asked each individual how it was going and looked at our work. Even though the ingredients to the sauce was few, the look, taste and smell was amazing. I am so happy that I was able to take part in the class and would love to take part in more. I hope that you would be able to do more even if you have to start charging for the class. The whole experience from the start to end was amazing. I loved it all and eating the food at the end was such a fantastic feeling as I normally cook but this was the first time with a live class.
Thank you so so much.

We booked a private cooking class, as our teenage daughter wanted to learn how to do pizza and pasta. Marco was great fun and showed us how to make some of the best pizza and pasta we have ever had . Our daughter is looking forward to showing off her new found skills to her friends. I highly recommend this as a fun, interactive, family friendly activity.

I highly recommend this two hour cooking and dining experience when you’re in Rome and wish to stray from the traditional tourist routine. Chef Roberto was patient and engaging and charming and he instructed us each step of the way in making pasta sauce, pasta and Tiramisu, curated to our desired palette. Our teenage girls enjoyed the experience too!! The meal you make is served in an elegant dining room with your choice of wine or other beverage, at a leisurely pace. We were given a QR code for the recipes too! Reserve early.

My husband and I had the most amazing time with Sara! Not only did we make 2 delicious pastas but the best tiramisu we have ever eaten plus we received the recipes in order to make it at home! Sara was kind, entertaining and very knowledgeable! We highly recommend!

In Rome cooking was fansatico! We had a wonderful time as a family making Gelato, fresh pastas and sauces that were so delicious. Learning with our host chef Davi was an experience I would highly recommend during your time in Rome.

We took the gelato and cookie making class in person a few years ago with our teen and pre-teen and it was one of the highlights of the trip. The space was lovely and it was a wonderful leisurely afternoon break from museums and the city heat. The other couple there was on their honeymoon and also enjoyed themselves. None of us wanted to leave and they never made us feel rushed. This week I took the ZOOM gnocchi class and would recommend it as well. I have tried making gnocchi before with little success, but the class had lots of tips and a different technique and they came out SO YUMMY!

Is the location wheelchair accessible? My sister will be with us and is in a wheelchair. We can get her up a few stairs and such, but if there is a lift that is great. Just need to confirm it isn’t up a huge flight of stairs. Thank you in advance.
