Neighbourhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

Small intimate and beautiful
Sep 2019
This is a very small and pretty church in Rome near the Trevi Fountain.
It was built in 17th century and it is a baroque confraternity church.
Originally its name was Santa Maria delle Vergini. Only later it was dedicated to St. Rita of Cascia.
The architect was Francesco Peparelli.
The church and the nuns' monastery was Augustinians until 1871, when it was confiscated by the Italian State along with the convent.
It was was reopened to the public in 1904 and dedicated to St. Rita.
It has many beautiful paintings, a delightfully carved and gilded wooden choir, while the dome by Michelangelo Ricciolini is entirely frescoed.
Inside this intimate church there is a chapel with the Virgin of Lourdes.
If you're in the area, it's worth seeing!

Lovely Church!
Dec 2016 • Couples
This church is just south of the Trevi Fountain. It is dedicated to St. Rita of Cascia. My mother’s name was Rita. We have been to St. Rita’s Church in Cascia, so we had to see this one as well. The frescoed dome was done by Michelangelo Ricciolini and shows the glory of paradise. The church has a finely carved wooden choir carved and gilded. The supporting brackets have nuns' heads, matching those on the door case outside. There is a small chapel on the left as you enter dedicated to the Lourdes Chapel in the form of a grotto which was dedicated in 1912.
