Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Download the app tiquets, to book the time slot beforehand, cause ticketbox may be non-working and all the slots be sold out for the day. Also be aware street dealers selling the cheapest tickets for high price. Basically I think that those people bought out all the tickets) it’s disappointing experience

Located near the Colosseum, and is very popular with those who just want to hang out after vsiting the main attraction. It is always filled with people walking around or sitting and enjoying the scenery. It's a definite vist when you re in thia area.

This historic site is under new management but not for the better. The experience was disappointing in every way—tickets are now purchased outside at a tent regardless of weather (heat or rain); and audio service for touring the site has been suspended. Management of this grand historic site now subject visitors to welding heat, and no educational aids to inform them about the site. Management you can, and must, do better!

Very busy here but nice to see the collesseum from the outside. It is also very near to other Roman things. Lots of street entertainers nearby too. I would avoid anyone trying to sell you an entrance ticket to the collesseum - do it officially through the ticket office or online!

If you’ve missed out on tickets or are on a very tight budget, you will get the best exterior view of the Colosseum from here for free.
It costs nothing to walk right up to and around the Colosseum. There are no barriers keeping you at a distance so you have a close-up and clear view from the piazza day or night, 24 /7.
It’s worth taking some time to stand here and just soak it all in.
I felt like I got a better sense of the sheer scale of it from here than I did from inside.
Built in 80CE, the Colosseum could hold 50,000+ spectators - an enormous number. It is big enough that if you walk a circuit right around the outside, it will take about 15-20 minutes.
The downside to lingering in the piazza is that you become a target for dodgy ticket sellers and touts.
We were bailed up by a guy who randomly initiated a conversation and then tried to slip a bracelet on my wrist. Even keeping my arms clamped by my side and not engaging in conversation, it was surprisingly hard to shake him. Also avoid the predatory ticket touts flogging off Colosseum tickets at excessively high prices. On the plus side, the gladiators, who used to pose with unsuspecting tourists and then try to extort large sums of money for the photos were nowhere to be seen.

It was beautiful and sad at the same time. What an amazing structure and history. I didnt expect it to be so huge.

This Piazza is special because it has a good view of the Colosseum. It is not an outstanding piazza on its own. If it did not have a view of the Colosseum it would be an ordinary piazza. But it does have a great view of the Colosseum and that makes it worth visiting.

I love Piazza del Colosseo at night more than during the day, when it is incredibly crowded. I was walking from the Domus Aurea back to Via del Corso and had a great opportunity to enjoy dramatic night views of the Colosseum lit up in the dark.

Piazza right next to the Colosseo. There were a lot of tourists here from group trips. Seeing the Colosseo from this close distance is very impressive

We were not aware about the ticket process so we just wandered around the Colloseum and it was a great experience. There were some people trying to sell the tickets but we were not sure so we just ignored them.
