Top ways to experience Palazzo Poli and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

Tripadvisorโ€™s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This palazzo is directly behind the Trevi Fountain, current entrance at Via della Stamperia 6. This palazzo is notable even if it was not the backdrop to one of the greatest fountains in the world. The name comes from a former inhabitant, the Duke of Poli. It was once the home of a famous Roman poet, G.G. Belli, as well as Russian princess Zenaida Volkonskaya, known for her salon, which attracted many writers and artists. Today the palazzo houses the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica (Central Institute for Graphics), which includes a free museum with changing exhibits.

It is a shame that the palace is almost exclusively associated with the Trevi fountain, which was placed against its smaller side and became an integral part of the entire complex. Regardless of the fountain, the palace, built in the century. XVI but subsequently restored and enlarged several times, it is of excellent workmanship. Furthermore, over the centuries, its rooms have been frequented by illustrious people such as Belli, D'Annunzio, Puccini, Gogol, just to name a few. Today it is state-owned and is home to the Central Institute for Graphics.
