Really disappointed.

We had high hopes for this tour, as it was highly recommended by our hotel. The price was steep (€58 each), but we were told it included the colleseum including the underground... read more

We thought we would use this as a means of transportation, so bought a two day ticket. The audio was good and the information gave us a great overview of the city. Following along with the map helped. But wish we hadn't purchased a multi day pass. The one ride ticket, riding the entire circuit was enough to give us the... More

We used Green Line Tours twice in one day in Rome and both tours were well worth the money we paid. Vatican City in the morning was incredible, an early start with pick up from our hotel. A guided tour is almost essential to visit because even at 8.30am, mid week in the low season the queues were enormous and... More

We took this HOHO due to cruise guide recommendation then only to find out that Big Bus and City Sightseeing Stops on the same spot. First the bus is so dirty and it only comes 20 minutes apart wheres the 2 big companies were just passing every 10 minutes. We have limited time to go around prominent place and GLT stops... More

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She has clearly conducted this tour for some time and knew lots of interesting information - not just the usual details of the historic sites, but also local knowledge. The tour last several hours and included transport to and from the pick up point. We got to see some key historic sites... More

You will see that I wrote a review just over two years ago. This time our friends were hounded and purchased tickets before I could warn them. So we joined our friends.0 The one bus we rode had one of the two stairways closed because of a maintenance issue. The wifi was poor. Several jacks for the headphones did not... More

We took a day trip from Rome to Naples and Pompeii. The guides were fun, interesting and informative. Naples is beautiful (and historic) but Pompeii is fascinating. It was an easy day-trip, we met lots of interesting people. Double gold stars - I left my camera on the van that picked us up at our hotel to drive us to... More

Worst tour ever. They kept taking us to their own kickback places who charged extra for set menus and lied about what we were getting. On what planet could you advertise swordfish and deliver frozen basa? The guide at Pompeii, seemed inordinately pleased with himself to have completed the tour one half hour early. There was never any personal exploring... More

We were disappointed right from the beginning when the 'agent' didn't give us a choice of which tour line to take, he made the receipts out for GLT. Then a 10 minute wait according to the flyer was really 30 minutes as we watched the other buses come and go sometimes three times. Worse yet, the audio product was poor,... More

It is the worst tour that we have ever taken. A tourist trap that is set up for you to spend money at the forced designated mediocre vendors. We went late January. It is an all day tour around 10-12 hours. There were about 35 people on the bus. It takes about 3 hours one way and 3 hours back... More

We had high hopes for this tour, as it was highly recommended by our hotel. The price was steep (€58 each), but we were told it included the colleseum including the underground passages, the roman forum, palatine hill and a basilica, so we were pretty excited. Unfortunately, we spent most of the time in a bus going round in a... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
