One can not think well, love well, sleep well, if he has not eaten well I learned to make pasta from my grandmother when I was a little girl, now I want to pass on her gestures and her love for authentic food. We weren't sure what to expect, but we got more than our money's worth and had a ton of fun in the process. Silvia has a great personality and keeps you entertained throughout the Farmers Market tour, and making the two different types of pasta (from scratch), and yes this is a very hands on process. We had grandparents, parents and kids 8 & 10, and a young newly engaged couple in our group. After touring the farmers market and learning what to select for the pasta sauces and the types of cheeses to select (and how the cheese is made, how it will influence the flavor of the recipe, etc), we went to Silvia's place to make the recipes. She had assistants to coordinate cooking the food and clean up. Once we made the pasta dough, we shaped it using special tool, including a pasta guitar. Next, Silvia showed us how to prepare the sauces, amazed at how quickly it can all come together. We then sat back and enjoyed a glass of wine/fruit juice for the kids, while the pasta cooked. Then we were served by Silvia and her assistants. Oh, I forgot to mention that we were provided with appetizers and the pasta was followed with a fantastic dessert. My husband is a very picky eater and was not looking forward to this cooking adventure at all, but Silvia changed all of that, he cleaned his plate twice and was laughing throughout the class telling Silvia she should have her own TV show, I agree. You will not regret going to Silvia's class!
