Our Eyes of Rome tour as led by Stefania was fantastic. We have 3 children and she included them all and pitched different sections of the tour for all age groups. This tour was our highlight of Rome and we cannot speak more highly of her. Thank- you for an incredible Roman Empire experience.

After reading many reviews I booked two tours with Eyes of Rome, one at the Vatican and one at the Colloseum. It was super easy to book and communicate in order to select the right tours. They promptly answered all my questions. I love the fact that they are local. In country, our tour guide, Azzura was delightful in every... More

Rome wasn’t built in a day, so don’t even try seeing it in a day. Unless the Eternal City is your port for embarkation or disembarkation, about 8 hours is what you may get to explore Italy’s magnificent capital, factoring in the 90 or so minutes it takes to get to and from the dock in Civitavecchia. When in Rome... More

Our family of 6 (Mom & Dad and our 4 kids, ages 20, 13, 12, 10) spent a wonderful month traveling throughout Italy in July 2016. Rome was our last stop before we returned home. Because of it's vast history, we decided to book private tours to get the most out of our time in Rome. After doing alot of... More

My husband and I went to Italy to celebrate our anniversary and decided that the Vatican was an appropriate time to book a private tour. We found Eyes of Rome through a blog that I follow and I am so glad we used them. Our tour guide was Stefania, and to put it simply, she was wonderful. She was on... More

Serena was our tour guide for the Colosseum and Forum - she was fantastic! Her humor, knowledge and passion for this eternal city really kept us engaged on this very chilly windy day! She recommended that we hike up to the Palatine hills for a birds eye view of the Forum - what a great suggestion! The view was breathtaking!... More

That view of Rome from the Palatine Hill is one of my favorite ones... If I think it is the same perspective the Emperors could enjoy 2000 years ago, I feel it is possibly the most impressive spot in the entire City! It has been great to dream with you about the Ancient Romans and their lifestyle. Many thanks for... More

This was our second time visiting Rome and taking Eyes of Rome tours with tour guide, Katie Farrar. Our family, including two teenage boys, had an equally great experience this December. We all loved the Angels & Demons tour through the historical center and to St Peter's and Castel Sant' Angelo plus a full day outing to Ostia Antica. Katie... More

... And I can't wait to see you again and tell you more stories! Many thanks for your comment and for your enthusiasm and curiosity. Hope you will return here very soon. The Appian Way is one of the most fascinating and rich paths in Rome, in a marvelous landscape. It will be another great experience, trust me! :) Ciao!... More

Our family went on a three hour tour of the Forum and Coliseum with Eyes of Rome over Christmas break and our guide, Francesco, was incredibly engaging and knowledgable. Our teenage boys loved the experience and we would highly recommend this group and guide to others. In fact, my wife and 14 year old did the same tour with Francesco... More

My adult daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with Serena, visiting landmarks that were significant in the life of Saint Paul. I have visited Europe at least once a year for the past 15 years and can say that Serena was one of the most informed guides I have ever had the pleasure of using. In addition to her... More

You have chosen an "Off the beaten paths" tour and this is why we have enjoyed some different, more intimate and spiritual aspects of the Roman and Christian History. It has been a privilege to have this opportunity and to spend my time with you. Hope I will be part of your future curious experiences in Rome. Arrivederci and Grazie!... More

Arranged a private Vatican tour with Fabiana on the 30th December . Our party was 7 people aging from 14 to 65. All members of our group where absolutely delighted with the structure of the tour and the in depth knowledge of our host. Choosing a private tour means that you can make your own group and share a special experience. For a tour guide it is great to talk to people with different ages and backgrounds, but from the same family or traveling together. I felt I was part of your group and it was a nice day, that I would repeat many... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
