Bernini's masterpiece in the heart of Piazza Navona. River god Ganges is the best side if you want to take a photo. You may want to take a photo at night time. What a nice area to sit and take selfies. While staring at this statue, you will notice a lot of work and detail was put on this marvel.

I loved this fountain which represents the four rivers...the Nile, Ganges, Danube and Rio de la Plata. It is a Bernini masterpiece that is free to view...don't miss it!

For this fountain is a beautiful as Trevi. The carving of the lion sipping water is one of my favorite figures.

The biggest fontana of Piazza Navona from the great Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Make sure to visit since Piazza Navona is one of the most romantic and easy going places in the center of the city.

One of the great things about Italy is that the works of legendary artists can be so easily enjoyed by people, instead of being put behind walls or glass. One such example is this fountain created by Bernini. You can sit on the edge and look at it, or just people watch in Piazza Navona. Day and night, this is... More

A perfect stop day or night. Do listen to Rick Steve's fab free audio guide app to understand the symbolism of the four rivers. We dined at the restaurant opposite. Costly, but nice. The waiter informed us that all of the 10pc service charge added to the bill was kep by "the boss", which is annoying.

Best seen first thing in the morning or late at night - magnificent detail in the sculptor work by Bernini. Take your time, and enjoy the lively atmosphere surrounding the fountain. The fountain depicts the 4 rivers of the 4 great continents.

In addition to the beautiful fountain, the buildings surrounding the plaza are among the most beautiful in Rome. I caught this shot just after noon!

It is impossible for the visitor of Rome passing by without noticing this grandiose Fontana. Bernini's design (1648-51) remembers me the Eiffel tower in stone. A lot of stories about this monument have been developed through time. A good exercise (game) is to try find which "river" is which without looking the internet...Piazza Navona is a fabulous experience especially at... More
