Although it was the last Sunday of the month (when the entrance is free) me and my friends opted for the guided tour which helped us skipping the never-ending queue and really enjoy the visit. We were part of a large and mixed group but our guide, Ribal AbiGhanem, managed to keep our attention focused while giving us plenty of... More

Exceeded our expectations. Lovely surprise to find just 4 of us on tour. Guide was an archeologist -extensive knowledge - perfect guide. No queues. We forgot everyone else around us as we were immersed in what felt like a very special private tour. Great value. Highly recommended. Top Tip. Wear comfortable footwear and ask for Micheala.

Really good tour guide who took interest in the group and was very informative. Definitely worth paying extra to get in early before the hoards decdended. We were out at 11am with plenty of time to see other sights.

Beautiful guided tour through the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and the grounds. So much history and awe inspiring architecture. Strongly recommend booking a guided tour, and immerse in the history of this beautiful place.

Definitely experience this guided. Not only will you skip the queues but also learn about the masters & artworks within. There is a huge amount to see & the Sistine chapel ceiling is complete sensory overload on the eyes. Grab a seat & take some time to look at this historic marvel.

Even though i had read that in order to avoid the queue you should have bought an online ticket in advance, unfortunately i didn't. I though that since it is December it' s a low season so let's try it and i ended up paying more. There were so many willing guides outside Vatican, trying to persuade you to have... More

We took the Sistine Chaple, museu, and St. Peter's Basilica. It was almost 5 hours by the time we finished. Being in the Chaple early was magical and we had a full 20 minutes with comparatively small groups. Afterwards we had a narrative tour of bottom 2 floors of the museum befor crossing over to the church We moved quickly... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
