This was one of the many beautiful churches visited in Rome this month, with spectacular artwork. If you are in the area, do not miss stepping into and observe the awe inspiring artwork.

Just went by, as it is a markedly large basilica. The small detour from Piazza Navona is worth every step. The basilica is huge and highly decorated with baroque statues and paintings of highest quality. The audio guide is free (donations welcome). The Nuova Chiesa...More

We came across Chiesa Nuova by chance, during our walk in the streets of the city. We went inside out of curiosity and were impressed by the lovely interior. It's worth your time if you happen to be in the area.

The spectacular Counter-Reformation church is on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II not too far from the Piazza Navona. It was founded by St Philip Neri, a Florentine who founded the Order of the Congregation of the Oratory in the 16th Century. The church and the...More

Finally I had to know what this spectacular building was. It's right in the neighborhood I'm in and that's what you do in Rome. Explore and find hidden gems that no-one is talking about but you love!

Something I found somewhat unique about this church was the abundance of artwork that was actually mounted and framed upon the walls and inside the side chapels. Most other locations have this art painted on the walls from end to end where as in here,...More

In the heart of historic Rome, the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella is really known as the Chiesa Nuova. It showcases the life and work of St. Philip Neri. It is located on the busy Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The church is midway between...More

I loved the art (including by Rubens), the spaciousness, the ceilings, the tombs and side chapels - this made it one of my favourite churches in Rome.

Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a
five-minute walk of each other, the
Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and
most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful
throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art
galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood
museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the
streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
