Very nice plaza and close to termini station

This is truly a stunning piazza. Here you will find imposing buildings surrounding the square, a large, scary roundabout, the exquisite Fontana delle Naiadi and an almost demolished temple. Take the time and go visit the Baths of Diocletian and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Two of the best known streets in Rome are off this piazza –... More

This square is stunning. It is very close to Termini station and right above Piazza della Repubblica subway stop. Many worthy museums in the vicinity, including the Baths of Diocletian and the near-by Museo Nazionale Romano. I was recently there during a very cold winter day and took this extraordinary photograph in which the water of the beautiful fountain had... More

There is a pedestrian crossing on the side with the brick building. Walk over for a close look, the traffic will stop for you. Walk around several times and go back at different times of the day as you will notice different features. On our second week in Rome the pond had several inches of ice on it -the icicles... More

Uff!!!! what should I say!!!! The dazzling lights and the outstanding view of the building with the fountain in the centre. Just a casual visit would do but there are a lot of shopping outlets and this is very much nearer to Termini, Piazza di spagna, Trevi fountain etc. A Must see piazza.

Found this piazza after leaving the Termini station on the way to somewhere else. The fountain was partly covered on our visit. Not sure why. Nice enough piazza but very busy with traffic.

We visited while staying on via montebello near the termini station in May 2012. It was about a 15-20 minute walk from our b&b. Huge traffic circle with piazza on both sides and a large fountain in the center. Many shops and some eateries to checkout. A pretty impressive piazza with an interesting fountain of the nymphs in the center. This fountain has been renovated in previous years as well as the semi circle of buildings that are at the perimeter of the piazza. Beautiful area day or night. Lot of traffic and street activities. Close to the Termini Rail station.

Piazza della Republica...such a beautiful place close by to Termini station and Piazza Barberini...a big gorgeous fountain in the middle and next to the Diocletian Thermal baths...especially when lit at night, the scenery becomes a lot more beautiful...take the metro to Republica station step out to the Piazza and take some pictures...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
