I was a bit hesitant because of the price but am very glad we decided to do the kid-friendly private tour of the Vatican. Our guide did a wonderful job of explaining the Vatican to our 6-year old and answering her 10,000 questions while also providing information for my husband and I. The guide showed us key art and features in museums, St. Peter's and the Sistine Chapel. Because we went around Christmas time everything was very crowded and it was wonderful to be with someone who knew how to navigate around everything there was to see while being able to tell us key information. She also was great about arranging for a short break when my daughter was tired and arranging for us to have water. She had brought along a snack too to keep my daughter going. Overall this was a great experience and well worth it.

Azzurra took our group of five on a three hour private tour of the Vatican that was just awe inspiring. Her passion for the what she was showing us was contagious! We really enjoyed seeing all the best parts of Vatican City including the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. I would highly recommend this tour and Azzurra for anyone interested in seeing the Vatican - she is an expert and really made the tour fun.

We took a private tour with guide Laura Gangemi of the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's. She is amazing!! She was a teacher and studied Art History with an emphasis on Raphael. She kept my father, three teenage sons, my husband and me completely engaged with her history and stories about the Catholic church, Roman history, the popes, and the artists. She would teach us the broad overview and also point of very subtle details about the art and architecture that we definitely would not have noticed. We were all engrossed for over three hours. I would definitely recommend this tour company, particularly if you have teens.

I utilized the “Skip the Line” Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel with the Raphael Rooms tour and I highly recommend it. Azzura was an amazing guide. She spoke perfect English, has great energy and passion for explaining everything and engaged the people on the tour. She was very good at explaining things and had the right tempo to cover the vast exhibits in the time allotted. She made the tour fun and pointed out the nuances captured in the art works.

We went on 2 tours on consecutive days in January 2020 for -
(1) Vatican Early Morning Tour and
(2) Gladiators Entrance Fast Track Colosseum Private Tour
For both tours, we had Valentina as our guide. She is a fantastic storyteller, full of knowledge and historical facts, explaining it in terms a novice could understand and imagine how life was in the past.
This was a private tour for the two of us only, and we felt we had all the sites to ourselves as she navigated the crowds and places expertly.
We have done small group tours as well, but the private tours are definitely worthwhile. As tourists, we would have spent more time looking at paintings, sculptures, historical sites that would have been less meaningful and memorable without the history and context behind that.
I have to also mention that we had our Vatican tour changed dates due to events at the Vatican - we were promptly informed by email and it was all fixed seamlessly.
We would definitely use Rome Private Guides again.

We took a Rome Private tour of Florence including the city, Duomo, Baptistery and The Academie. Barbara, our tour guide was knowledgeable and kept our four college aged kids interested. After visiting the Baptistery, she wisely recommended an additional stop, seeing that the line into the Duomo was an hour long. We went to the San Lorenzo church and museum where all the Medici family are buried. She toured us there. After seeing the magnificent David and Pieta in the Academie, she highlighted the Duomo on our way back. By that time the line was only a few minutes long and we spent our time there on our own. I’m happy she gave us an opportunity to see additional sites in Florence rather than wasting the time in line. Even though the museum was not part of our package and we paid the additional entry fee, it was worth it. I previously visited Florence 30 years ago and did not remember seeing so many long lines. The skip the line tours are a must!

We toured the Vatican Museum and St Peters with Diego on Friday 6th March and had a fantastic time. He was passionate, interesting, spoke perfect English and kept us all thoroughly entertained the whole way through. Next time we visit Rome we will definitely try to get him to guide us around more of this amazing cities historical sites.

Renata is a great and professional tour guide. We had a great few hours visiting the Colosseum and Forum Romana. She is very knowledgeable and well organized, her english is impeccable and we had no problem understanding her all the way. She responded to every question we had regarding ancient Roman history and even had a little chat with her in our mother language at the end of the tour! It is definitely worth the extra money and I would book again on my next visit to Rome, ask for Renata!

We were a party of three adults, a seven year old girl and a (just) five year old boy. While not a cheap option this was a wonderful way to introduce the children to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Simona was a friendly and very knowledgeable guide with impeccable English and all of us got a lot from our visit. The adults had all visited previously (unguided) but enjoyed this visit much more and the children benefited from the personal attention and a tour that could be taken at our speed without having to fit in with others. Two pleasant surprises at the end of our tour - a small Halloween gift for the children from Simona and access to St.Peter's Basilica directly on leaving the Sistine Chapel - we were already through security and had no need to queue. This had not been mentioned in the Tour information and we had been expecting not to be able to visit the Basilica that day as we could not have expected the children to queue after a lengthy tour. I am very glad to have booked the tour - thank you again, Simona.

Letizia was our guide and she was absolutely amazing! Firstly she knows most the guards everywhere so getting in and out of places was really easy she would speak a few words with them and we would continue on our way it was very fast to get through any security lines or exits. She made sure we not only got to see everything we wanted to but also told us a bunch of interesting facts about what we were seeing and answered any questions we had. She also made sure we got great photos of all the places we went. She was great at navigating the citing teaching us how to navigate it. She also gave us great recommendations on where to shop and also where to eat for the rest of our visit. If you want to make sure you have a great time seeing all the sights in Rome with ease I highly recommend this tour.

Hello, Day #1 in Rome, I am interested in having a private tour/or very small group for a family of 4 which includes ancient Rome: Roman Forum, Roman Colosseum, Palantine Hill, Piazza Navone, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, etc.
Day #2 in Rome, I am interested in Vatican City: St. Peters Basilica, Sistine Chapel, Vatican museums and a tour through the Vatican necropolis, catacombs, tomb of St. Peter. Is this possible? I am on the business trip in Italy and only have one day stay in Rome, that Is on June 7th.
I wanted very much to be able to visit Coliseum Arena and Undergrounds in particular, but couldn’t find any tours available for that day . Would that be possible to hire a private tour on that date?
The tour might also include The Stadium of Domitian( Underground ) , Mamertine Prison, Gladiator Museum, Baths of Caracalla and Underneath Rome
Preferably in the late afternoon or the evening time.

We booked by phone as we live here. And the golf cart was for three people and I believe it came to about 200 euros. I'm never ever sure about the price as my husband always takes care of the payment. Ours was a small cart, but I've seen bigger ones going around, Good idea to get to the source to get information. Sorry I haven't been of much help.
