From the various mentions of this market were were expecting an interesting array of edgy/cutting edge clothing and jewelry. It was more like what you would find at an American mall packed into two large rooms. Not worth the time.

Rome is full of Palazzos, piazzas, tourists, and good food. There are not many place like Monti. Its packed with fashion relics, hand-made clothes, bags, and jewelry. As others noted in reviews, its small, but if you are nearby, its worth a turn through here....More

I saw the poster, asked the concierge where it was, he told me our own basement. Set up was great, big crowd when I went in the late afternoon, interesting stuff both vintage and newly hand done..

We enjoyed our trip to MercatoMonti a lot! Found the vendors very pleasant and helpful and it feels great to meet so many young designers and makers from Italy in one place and supper them.

I don't really get the hype. Overpriced. Some originals, some vintage, none seemed to be worth the cost. Maybe it's just me.

The Mercato Monti was smaller than expected, but for a collector of unusual jewelry and vintage clothes, it's a wonderful place to visit. The prices are reasonable, and you're sure to come home with a special item that will remind you of Rome!

When I read a review in the NY Times that compared MercatoMonti to Testaccio Market, I had to offer a different perspective. The Times writes, "For a more satisfying market experience, head to MercatoMonti, where about two dozen vendors — an upstart collective of young...More

There was some interesting stuff (mix of vintage, new labels, and handcrafted goods). The space was small and everyone was Italian. No one really tried to help me (even though I was intently looking at things and speak Italian) I think monti is just for...More

Fashion market where Italians show their great creativity for someting out of almost nothing. Lots of handmade clothing, second hand clothing, retro-jewelry, funny gadgets. Opens only during the week-end. Style conscious mothers go to Daniela Fantozzi's stand in the centre for turning their little girls...More
