Neighbourhood: Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This sprawling palace-like building houses Italy’s Supreme Court. The highest court in the country, it’s also the court of last resort.
It got a bad rap when it was first built (between 1888 and 1910). Its ostentatious decoration, its excess and the fact that it appeared to sink shortly after inauguration, did not endear it to the people.
If you prefer classical grandeur and quiet dignity in your architecture, this is not the building for you. Personally, I like it. It’s just so extravagant, it’s hard to not like it.
As far as I could tell, it’s not open to the general public, or at least not to tourists.
The best view is from Ponte Umberto. As you cross the Tiber River, the bridge leads directly to the front of the building, making a great photo. From the bridge, you can also get a clear view of the bronze quadriga on the top of the building, the four-horse chariot with Victoria, the goddess of victory.

A majestic building that captures your gaze in a bewitching and evocative way.
The palace is certainly one of the most fantastic attractions in the city.
The historic seat of the Court of Cassation overlooks the rectangular Piazza Cavour.
To be seen!

Incredibly dominant building. This is amazing to look at if on the way to the Vatican. The statue at the top is really a masterpiece.

This massive building borders the pretty Piazza Cavour on one side, and faces the Tiber on the other. It was built at the turn of the 19th Century, and is considered one of the grandest of the "new" buildings constructed when Rome became the capital city of the united Kingdom of Italy. Despite its grandeur, some people consider it unattractive and refer to it as Il Palazzaccio, "the ugly palace." On the side facing the river, there are statues of great Italian jurists. At the top is a gigantic bronze statue of a winged "Justice" in a chariot drawn by four horses. It is particularly notable at night when it is brightly lit up.

This building is in itself already very big, but it appears even more so given the adjoining flat and wide Piazza Cavour ensures there are no neighboring buildings competing with it for attention. One one side is written 'Corte di Cassazione' as this building is the seat of Italy's highest court.

Here it is where justice, or 'justice' (depends on the days), is served. Architecturally it may be a mix of way too many styles yet it still is pretty impressive. It is possible to visit the inside of the building for free, you just need to get a visitor pass at the entrance. Also, if you come after 10 and before 2 pm and go to the second floor you may watch a live criminal trial. No one is going to arrest you, though remember to keep it down since it still is the Supreme Court.

Well, I have been lucky enough to be able to visit it inside. If on the outside is impressive enough, a gigantic - yet elegant - monolite, on the inside looks like a royal palace with some courtrooms looking like a church.

Found this beautiful Palace over the Tiber when walking around with my wife.
It's outstanding and both the interior and exterior are exquisite.
It's nickname is Palazzaccio which means Bad Palace due to the perceived corruption for how long it took to make and the grandiose Intricate work included in the design.
Would recommend.

Truly a beautiful site as you walk towards the Vatican along the river. From the outside this is an absolutely amazing looking building, with magical architecture and beautiful shapes and contours.

Continuing our day trip of Rome a little distance ahead of the Castle of Saint Angelo, we came across, rather were captivated by, this architectural building located just across the main street ! Our driver guide took us for a closer outdoor inspection and few snaps of this monument and shared some interesting facts. This is not a very old building by Rome standards. Work started in 1888 and lingered on till around 1910. There were rumors of corruption and scandals which earned it the nickname The Bad Palace or Palazzaccio. The limestone building is built in Renaissance and Baroque architecture. On the top of the building is a huge bronze statue and we are told there is a great hall inside which serves as the office of the Supreme Court ! Another odd story mentioned was that during the excavations the tomb (sacrophagi) of a young woman with an ivory doll was unearthed which is now preserved in some museum presumably in Rome. The building underwent major restoration in 1970 due to the alluvial soil on which it stands and today stands in front of us spick and span, attracting gazes of tourists and architecture lovers alike !
