From the beginning directed by M° Adriano Melchiorre, famous international director, the Orchestra gets itself noticed in the main Italian and European concerts and festivals. From 2001 the concert seasons of the Orchestra of I Virtuosi dell'opera di Roma are in Rome, mondial capital of "bel canto", and offer every year to thousands of spectators the possibility to be in contact with lyrical opera and its fascinating culture which make it the ambassador of the Italian spirit in the world.

While we were looking for a concert during our stay in Rome, we learned about this opera-dinner theater. The opera happened to be La Traviata. We bought our opera tickets from Viator's online site. There were ticket choices with different prices depending on the location of the seats and whether or not dinner would be included. We chose "opera box with dinner" option (TG1) for $ 181.32 for two of us. After paying for the tickets via online with our credit card, we received the voucher by e-mail. We brought the printed voucher to Teatro Salone Margherita near Spanish Steps about 1 hour 45 minutes before the curtain call. We were escorted to our opera box with only a table for two of us, and the dinner course continued until the curtain call, and the dessert came during an intermission. The theater was elegant and intimate. The opera performance quality was surprisingly high, and the dinner was good enough. We had a very romantic evening listening to beautiful La Traviata arias in an elegant theater. It was safe to walk around the theater area even at late night after the opera ended. There was no dress code. Semi formal dress would be good. I would highly recommend this dinner-theater experience.

My husband and I spent our first night in Rome here and absolutely loved it. We splurged for a private dinner in a box and the whole experience was wonderful. The food was great, but I especially loved the show!!! Will definitely be back on our next trip!

After a short metro trip from our hotel, arrived at this wonderful theatre and was pleasantly surprised by the private box overlooking the stage. Food was excellent and production of Traviata was superb. Loved the opulence of the whole experience. But would have been a lot cheaper to book in Rome, rather than online from OZ.

It was a nice experience for the first classical experience and little culture hurt nobody. I think this is not the creme de la creme and some settings are not the professional ones but it was still nice.
BUT DON`T buy any tickets from CLASSICTIC ! The overprise the tickets and they do false ads and mostly they dont deliver the right event The event locations changing after your purchase and they dont refund or compensate at all. No real customer service provided there. Attention!

This place is magical. We went to listen Traviata. La Traviata has 3 acts. This was unique experience because between 1st and 2nd act, you can take drinks and try tradicional, italian gelato (ice cream) in authentic atmosphere. Between 2nd and 3rd you they serve A Matriciana pasta, they explained to us, that was tradition. So, to make it short, you will get great opera experience with feeling that you are in time mashine. Elegant and classy! 5*

We called in off the street to see if there was availability for that evening, and we were pleased to hear there were tickets available. From memory we paid about 30Euro each.

The theatre is really lovely - it's not huge, but it has been restored beautifully. Before the production starts you can sit in the bar area beside the auditorium and have a some pasta which is included in the ticket price - it was really good. There is also a bar where you can purchase drinks before the start and during the interval.

For each price band of tickets you can sit anywhere within the allocated rows - we were towards the back but we had a great view and as the theatre is compact you're never too far from the stage.

We really enjoyed the performance and we felt it was to a really good standard with over ten performers.

Beautiful performance. We would not recommend including the dinner. The food was terrible and service mediocre.

We saw a poster of a performance by 'I virtuosi dell'opera di Roma' in Chiesa di San Paolo entro le Mura (St.Paul's within the walls) and took a gamble. Lucky we did, it was one of the highpoints of our visit to Rome. The church itself is a 19th century gothic revival church with beautiful mosaics. The singers were excellent, the orchestra was too. We saw La Traviata. We really enjoyed ourselves. Recommended
