Storytelling Rome Tours & Walks leads Off the Beaten Path guided tours in the Eternal City. Our goal is to bring stories of people from the past back to life. We tell stories of historical people to make history more appealing to everyone. The storytelling tours are suitable for everybody, whether they are history buffs or not even remotely familiar with the history of Rome. All you need to do is to listen to a great story. To all those people who say that history is boring, please accept our challenge: we dare you to come and take one of our storytelling tours!

We did the Women of Ancient Rome tour with Massimo and the Underground Rome and the Colosseum with Anna. They were both fantastic. So friendly and knowledgeable- they really brought Rome to life for us. There is just so much to take in, it really makes a big difference having a good guide to help to make sense of it. The tours were worth every penny. We did a cheaper, bigger tour (with a different company) to the Vatican and there was honestly no comparison. Looking forward to visiting Rome again and doing another Storytelling tour.

Massimo is simply the best! We have toured with Massimo four time now, and every time we learn something new. Massimo does his OWN research, so he isn't regurgitating the same lines the tour guide to the side is. He is well read, answers any question knowledgeably and his breadth of knowledge is deep. I recommend this group and any tour will be spectacular.

Massimo’s tours were absolutely amazing! We took 4 tours with Massimo as our guide, and they were all beyond my greatest expectations. I learned so much about Ancient Rome and loved Massimo’s delivery which was very thorough and entertaining. He has a gift to connect with people and made our time in Rome fabulous!

We spent 3 fantastic days in Rome and Massimo was our wonderful tour guide throughout. Massimo’s passion for Rome, it’s history, culture and food comes through his stories and his recommendations. We learned much and had fun with Massimo. He was a big part of making our visit to Rome outstanding!

Massimo is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. He's half entertainer and half educator. His passion for his subject matter is infectious which keeps all us tourists interested in what he has to say. Before our trip to Rome, Massimo was recommended by a neighbor who met him and was captivated by his personality. So Massimo is real, he's the same interesting guy whether he's at work entertaining and schooling tourists or "off the clock" and living life. That's just the type of guy you want telling you stories about the place you're visiting, half way around the globe.

If you only read one line of this review, then let it be known that Massimo is accommodating, funny, patient, and most importantly, a fantastic story teller.
The tour you get with Massimo is anything but just spewing facts. He brings to life what transpired, adding theory’s, gossip, and facts. I booked the “Storytelling Rome Tours & Walks - Roman Forum”. I wanted to skip the coliseum portion of the tour because I was just there and Massimo was fine with that. I was surprised that he would allow alteration to the tour. He was always very fast to respond when we were working out the details of the tour ahead of time.
In addition to this, I requested some information to be written up for my cousin who is deaf who would be joining us. He wrote up a multi page document so my cousin would feel included.
Do yourself and your guests a favor and book with Massimo. He is the best.

Let me just say that I wish that we could have booked Massimo for all of our tours in Italy. He was beyond amazing. My family and friends want to thank Massimo for an awesome experience in Italy. We learned so much on our tour through the Colosseum and I know that I cannot wait to come back and do more tours with Massimo!

We never know what to truly expect when booking tours anywhere wether stateside or in Europe. Fortunately, we were BLESSED to have our tour of The Coliseum booked with Massimo! From beginning to end he was so informative, hilarious, kept our attention (8 of us) and lived up to everything we were told about him from a friend. Do yourself a favor and please book with him as you will not regret it! He is a blessing to the Italian Touring Community because he truly teaches so much history! Four hours wasn’t long enough! Until next time Massimo!!!! Keep doing such an amazing job!!!

By far one of the best tours we have ever taken. Mossimo the tour guide was very interactive and knowledgeable and made the tour both interesting and fun. He was very passionate about what he was showing us. He also made you feel like you were in a tour with a friend. He is also an excellent photographer We will definitely be back to Rome and we highly recommend him for any tours in Rome.
