Wonderful bespoke tour of the Etruscan Necropoli, hill towns in Abruzzo and fantastic day trips in the Maiella and Gran Sasso National Parks. This was a 5 star once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Fantastic experience. Mario was very informative, thorough, and a good sense of humor! From landmarks, to churches, to ancient ruins, we experienced many details the average tour would've overlooked. Would highly recommend!

Mario worked with us, He was great, understood our needs, was responsive. Our guide Riccardo was excellent. He was knowledgeable, kind and attentive to our questions.
I can't say enough about this company and will be back with them again.

The best part was the knowledge that we learned from Mario. He took us to so many places in a short period of time. My family figured this is once in a lifetime experience and what it cost is minimal for what is accomplished. If i tried to do everything he showed us it would have taken a week. So to do this without any aggravation and preparation etc..... It was worth every penny to have Mario as our tour guide.

This past September we took our second trip to Italy. The first time we went south, this time we went north. Both trips were arranged by Mario Bernardi. What a terrific time our group of 4 couples had. Every detail was planned and executed perfectly. Drivers were on time, hotel rooms were waiting for us and tour guides were great in the places we visited. Mario also arranged visits to 3 wineries in the Tuscany area. We really enjoyed those wine tastings. Our trip south in 2016 was equally wonderful. We plan to go back to Italy and tour the east coast and into Sicily. I wouldn't think about going before contacting Mario to set up our trip. Grazie Mario.

Mario’s virtual tours are absolutely fantastic. Have experienced many of his talks online, eg Borghese Gallery, St. Peter’s , Santa Maria Maggiore, Villa D’Este, talks on Caravaggio and many, many more. All excellent and outstanding. The virtual talks allow you to “visit” places of interest in Italy from your own home. Mario is so knowledgeable about Italian art and architecture. He makes the art and buildings come alive for us. Honestly, his presentations are so good. Highly recommended.

A TRIP TO REMEMBER! Mario made our trip to Italy and France seamless and stress free.
Our family of 4, parents and two teenagers, traveled to Europe November 2021. The trip was originally scheduled for 2020. Due to the pandemic, we were not allowed to travel on our original dates. Mario was so easy to work with in adjusting our trip accordantly.
Mario planned an 11 day dream trip for us, beginning in Rome, traveling to Orvieto, Florence, Cinque Terre, Chianti, Sienna, Venice, Italy, and more. He handled all of our transportation, which was FIRST CLASS! This took a lot of stress away due to our family not speaking Italian and being from another country.
If I get to travel to Europe again, I would not hesitate to reach out to The Grand Tour of Europe to help make the most of my trip! Highly recommend!!!!

I made three trips to Italy prior to the pandemic. I continue to learn and enjoy Italy via virtual visits with Mario!!! I have taken multiple Zoom trips to the Pantheon, Pompeii, Tivoli, and Ostia Antica. His Ostia Antica tour is better than any other!!

Mario is amazing. Very professional and knowledgeable. I have worked with him personally and also professionally. I send my clients to him for any and all tours in Rome. He arranged touring for us in Milan and Lake Como that were both fabulous. Whatever you needs might be in Italy, Mario is the one to contact. Grazie mille.

Mario was absolutely brilliant and our tours of Rome and Ostia were really smooth and enjoyable. His knowledge of both the renaissance and classical period were exceptional. The tours represented brilliant value for money for their ease, detail and access and I'd certainly book Mario again in a moment.

Hi - go to 'the grand tour europe' & ask Mario! Best guide EVER! Wish I had done my entire Italy trip with him! Pretty sure he will take you anywhere in Italy.
