We went to mass here in October, 2017, the mass was all in Italian but we could follow along. They must have been training the kids to be alter servers as there were many children there carrying candles and processing. All the alcoves are filled...More

Chiesa di Santa Maria in Traspontina is a lovely church. Nice architecture all round. It is located in the vicinity of the Vatican's St Peter's Basilica. It is not as elaborate as St Peter's; far from it, but it would be worth going inside for...More

Nowhere as grand as the Basilica (St Peter's) in whose shadow it sits. Peek inside ,however, and you will want to stay and admire the detail, the gold, and silver icons. This is a titular Church currently protected by Archbishop Marc Ouellette ( Quebec City,...More

This church is too close to S.Pietro so it's obviusly a bit underrated ! It has more than most of the people may think: Procaccini, Cavalier d'Arpino, Carlo Fontana, etc. Don't miss it after (or before) visiting S.Pietro.

Can't find a reason why people don't visit this totally beautiful church located right in the street leading up to the Vatican, except that the church looks less impressive from the outside. Just walk in for 5'!
