The previous popes of the Vatican were powerful and came from families with influence. This wonderful treasure trove of art and sculptures were amassed through the centuries. Thanks to their status and wealth, we are able to view these precious objects today. Well worth the guided tour.

Walking around is like reading the encyclopedia of art. It is amazing how many masterpieces you can see here. One knows the copies, but here you see all the originals. The highlight for me is Laakoon and his sons.

Wonderful art, frescos, & sculptors. Highly recommend hiring a tour guide as we did. Learned a lot more of history and about the artists too.

There are not so many places in the world like this - where one can see so many wonders. If you go to Rome - you have to go to Vatican and to explore one by one all treasures here.

Breathtaking art treasures are showcased here. From the variety of the exhibits you cannot see everythign for yourself, so definitely book a guide so that the essence is explained and you do not lose in the details.
