None of Raffaello's works are on display in Raffaello's birthplace (of course, they are carefully guarded in museums and galleries), but the place is still worth a visit. Perhaps only a fresco of the Madonna and Child, said to be the work of the young Raffaello, but some say it is the work of his father, Giovanni Santi.

Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, wooden furniture are exhibited inside. Some of these items are closely associated with Raphael (copies of his paintings, sketches for his monument, tributes to the painter by other artists, etc.)

The entrance fee is €4.

And as if the Palazzo Ducale and the National Gallery of Art weren't enough, Raphael is born in Urbino and the his casa natale is in its original location, even if it's quite reconstructed. Still, he has lived in this place, with his father, also a painter, and his dreams, and longings... it does something to you to climb the steep marble stairs of the house and think of the incredible beauty he created so many hundreds of years ago, which is as powerful today as when he painted it.

This is the home of Raphael the famous painter from the Renaissance. If your interested in history or are just curious about the Renaissance I’d check this place out.

A beautiful and tranquil atmosphere. The fresco painting by young Raffaello is one of the must see things in Urbino. There are cosy inner garden with old well. You can let your wings of imagination fly into the great artist's childhood.

Unfortunately, no photos are allowed. We arrived early when the house opened and it was just us and another couple to explore the beautiful 2 floor home and courtyard of Art Master Raffaello. There's a beautiful portrait Raffaello's father painted of his Mother holdinmg him when he was an infant displayed in the room Raffaello was born. It was a treat for us to walk the same floors and rooms Raffaello walked as a child growing up and living in his parents Urbino home. Don't miss it.

Umbrino is very proud of their native son Raphael as they should be. Raphaels home is amazing. A lot of the furniture is original and there is a lot or painting as well as artifacts from everyday life of that time. The house also contains a fantastic fresco attributed to a young Raphael demonstrating his talent even at an early age. A great step way way way back in time! Allow about 1 1/2 hours.

A nice medieval house of quite a wealthy family at a time. Interesting to see the bright place - room - where the famous painter was born.

Santi's family home has nothing to offer, if you are going there to watch anything belonging to the great Raffaello. Of course there is none, as Raffaello is shown in security-tightened places! But this apartment on three/four floors gives you an idea of the middleeval life and homes.

I was so impressed by this nice house with a courtyard where Raffaello Sanzio lived until around 8 or 9 before going to Perugia for aprenticeship under Perugino. We saw several great pieces painted by his father Giovanni Sanzio, but only one real Raffaello was exhibited here.
