The tower offers a nice climb and would give you a fantastic foto opportunity if the windows wouldn't be blocked by bars. I can understand they dont want people to drop objects or cameras - but thats why glass or plastic windows have been invented!

Pay the entry fee and go up 200 steps only if you are bored, or desperate for exercise. The view at the top is only good on one of the four sides and it is not so good (see photo). If you really want to see the famous "bucket", you can see the original for free at the Palazzo Comunale

There are a lot of steps to get to the top so you will need to have good mobility. There are signs giving information on the history and information boards at the top showing the buildings and points of interest. There are views over all of the city showing all four sides. The windows are grilled so it is not... More

Climbed the steps to the top 3€ to get in. Leaflets in English and receptionist spoke reasonable English. Hardly anyone climbing tower so had the views to ourselves from the top. Beautiful old tower dating from 1099.

The entrance is between the duomo and the towr. Entry is E3 or E2 reduced. The steps are wide and not too steep. There are quite a lot though! Whilst there are grills on the windows, mobile phone photos work just fine if you get against the mesh. A good 30 minute activity. It had good, free maps of Modena.it was... More

This is a relatively easy climb up a rather wide staircase (compared to other towers in Europe). The climb is worth the effort since the reward is sweeping panoramic views of the city and a refreshing breeze even on the hottest of August days.
