The other reviewers have described the amazing ceilings well. Really glad we visited, it's only a small place, but for 2 euro great value. The attendant was most helpful and pleasant when we made a mistake with what we'd thought we're composite tickets for the national gallery and this venue.

An atmospheric Monastery garden led me to the Camera di San Paolo. There are two rooms, quite small, with glorious trompe l'oeil decoration. It is one of the great sights of Parma so inevitably it attracts visitors in groups and they completely fill the place. You just have to be patient and enjoy the gaps between groups.

Entry is down a garden alley off Strada Macedonio Melloni. You buy tickets 2 euro in the office on the left of building in front of you, then come back out to enter the apartments. First couple of rooms disappointing but then you turn a corner and enter the real prize. Spend some time and sit in the chairs provided... More

A former convent, the Abbess had requested Correggio paint the domed ceiling and fireplace of the dining room. The result, which is painted between the ribs of the ceiling, is quite beautiful. The ceiling of the Abbess's private quarters were also frescoed, but by Araldi. The only other work of note is a fresco of The Last Supper which is... More

Interesting site, for the rooms, one has an Idea of how a nun mother superior could live. And the art masterpeices that hav been recently restored. Worth the visit.

Awesome, really worth the time to visit. Not over busy when we visited so plenty of room and space to view at our leisure. Incredible paintings.

Stunning fresco ceilings by Correggio, full of flowers and garlands, and an unexpected fireplace. Take your time to imagine living under these beautiful paintings.

This place was hard to find, inadequate signage and road works, but worth the trouble. (On Via Macedonio Malloni, but set far back from the road) Since there was nothing in English to guide me and my information was gleaned from the internet I am guessing that this chamber is from the Italian High Renaissance period and the ceiling in... If you are interested in renaissance, this is your place. Wonderful ceiling frescos from Corregio. If you didn't knew his works, it is time to study it.
