Aside from the sunken mosaic floor which really does have goldfish swimming around, the alabaster windows in the church are quite gorgeous. Free and not crowded.

We queued to go down the steps and look through the little window into the crypt. The goldfish swimming around were a surprise. The church felt nice, a true place of worship, not too ornate.
The flooded crypt here is worth a look. Apparently subsidence has caused this area to fill with water. We saw goldfish swimming about. Dark and a bit creepy but I have never seen anything like it before.
I love this place. It isn't well known but sums up the history of the city: mosaics under water. It doesn't take long to see them though so plan for a very quick visit.
A dark place with a stunning cellar. The cellar is filled with water and fish. With one euro you can switch the light on in the cellar to see the beautiful mosaics beneath the water. I would recommend this as a short visit.

Breathtaking in all its aspects. Just bathe in the peace and quiet and workmanship of aeons ago. My second visit to Ravenna 30 years apart and everything is thankfully just as well preserved.
