Unfortunately the Opicina Tramway service has been suspended, it has been replaced by a bus service #2/ with the same timetable. The miniature bus departs from Via Giorgio Galatti off Piazza Oberdan and took fifteen minutes to arrive at Obelisco on the day of our...More

We really wanted to see this attraction but was unable to because it was broken. What a shame-we were really looking forward to this.

This Tramway was an attraction in the past but it doesn't run anymore. Although it is the tourist guide we visited it and you can't ride it anymore.

Having booked our June trip in January, I was hopeful that the tram would be running again as the accident was the previous August - but, NO! Had to make do with the bus, which is hardly something to write home about.

It's broken. It has been for years now. The city won't repair it apparently. It's sad, because the ride was beautiful; so long for "Trieste città turistica" (Trieste tourist city).

A great way to get to Trieste from the village.... or alternately, get to and enjoy a small Italian village while in Trieste. Easy, convenient, cheap and far better views than driving in a car.

We had hoped to ride the Opicina tram during our April visit, but it is not running yet, after a collision last year. Apparently replacement parts are a problem. We could have taken a bus, but opted for other excursions.
