Trieste seems to have many places to drink wine and eat pesto. Lovely place but not much if you don't want to do that

Wort going to whilst you are in the city. Lined by buildings and bars and cafes. Stop and have a drink and see the world passing by.

We arrived in Trieste on an international food fest day so this area was completely taken up by cuisine from around the world. We returned the next day to find a peaceful;charming area around which to roam and several good restaurants.

Trieste is a lovely interesting town with great history.....but just to sit on the canal drinking and eating from one of the many cafes is so relaxing

After the canals of Venice, this one didn't look anything great. It is a nice touch though to the centre and there are many cafes on the side. Possibly could be more lively place in the evenings.

The Canale Grande is a wonderfully atmospheric part of town - picturesque, lots of elegant cafes, fine churches, imposing buildings and a flotilla of small boats on the water. Unfortunately, it also a real tourist trap.

A gorgeous urban area, made magical by the canal. A must-visit in Trieste. Relax in a café and see an 18th century world come to life.

Although it is called grande, the canal itself is not that big. However, it is quite quaint with many nice restaurant and caffes on the side of it and some even on the river itself. Probably one of the nicest area in the city to...More
