We walked all the main squares and the waterfront. Lots of people out in the streets enjoying the restaurants late into the summer evening. The waterfront was especially nice at sunset!

The piazza is always buzzing - even when there is a Bora. It is right in the centre and all the shopping areas etc are just off here. It is also from where you can take boats around the coast.

Words and photos do not do this site justice. Go and you will see what I mean. While there. consider visiting the famous cafe overlooking the Piazza.

I believe this is the largest seafront piazza in Europe. Impressive architecture but it is by night we thought it excelled. The lighting was excellent and made the square look really classy. A must see if you are in Trieste.

You can't come to Trieste and not come here. Right down on the front, the buildings so beautiful that there are hotels who steal them to use on their own sites! ;-)

Amazing piazza surrounded by coffee shops. When I visit family it's one of the first places I go. It's a good starting point to walk around Trieste

Unlike many other squares in cities, this one entirely faces the sea and there's little in the middle of the square but big open space. The sides are lined with some big hotel/restaurant cafes that date back to a different era.

Not a patch on the city square in Krakow but a lovely Italian square all the same. Actually it looked even better as the sun was setting as one of the buildings shone with gold as the sun’s rays were reflected off its walls -...More

It is 10 - 15 minutes on foot from the train station, so you most certainly do not need a car. There are also buses from the station which stop in front of the square itself. You must buy the ticket before boarding and... More

Yes, there is a parking place across the square on the waterfront, but if you need to leave your car for a longer period of time, then it might be better to park somewhere in the street. You can park for free at the train... More
