We visited Portofino twice whilst staying in Rapallo, the first by car and the second by the tourist boat. The drive from Rapallo to Portofino is beautiful, although I was a rather anxious passenger on the narrow, twisting roads with mad drivers and even madder...More

Once in Portofino on June we seem to have reached Paradise ... it is by far the most angelic resort in the Ligurian Riviera, a corner of heaven and you only have to look at all that is around you!

We were on a cruise which stopped in Genoa and took a 1.5 hrs boat trip to get to Portofino. The trip is a bit exhausting, but the place is worth it. Portofino is beautiful with the houses painted in different warm colours. It is...More

Portofino is a very picturesque and charming town. The water views of the marina area against the hills are something to behold, and I am glad we spent an afternoon there. It is a little more busier (and higher end) than Santa Margherita or Rapallo...More

Just like so many of the other fishing villages along the Italian Riviera, the town is incredibly picturesque. It is very different from the well-known Cinque Terre series of small villages up the coast, as it is more developed and attracts more mega yachts and...More

This is clearly a charming place. The Brits were the first, after many centuries prior visitors, to really put the name on the map. Now the "rich and famous" come here. It is quite small. Certainly a place that can be easily seen/done in a...More

Four of us went to the Splendido hotel restaurant on the beach side for dinner. The meal service attention to detail was awesome. We rate the Belmond chain highly enhanced by this night out. On the water front at Portofino a dinner we should enjoy...More

We joined many others who were enjoying spending part of a day in this small and very scenic waterfront village. The setting is postcard beautiful. We sat on a bench in the harbor, strolled the alleys and streets, sat at an outside table having drinks,...More

A very exclusive little bay, with great yacht marina and high end shops. During my visit there, Giorgio Armani's yacht was docked and the famous designer was sunbathing on the deck.

Hi, Could you tell me what the coastal path in Portofino is like? Very hilly, not so hilly? How long would you say it takes to walk? We are on a cruise and will be spending the day in Portofino. You sounded like you really enjoyed the walk, which is something we like to do. Ty for your time. Florence
