The Hanbury Gardens are situated in amazing countryside with superb views of the Mediterranean. The paths criss cross the hillside with lovely flowers and bushes to enjoy as well as trees. Many are of botanical interest. The café at the bottom of the hill serves...More

This was such a special place. All the plants had name plates and the collection was organized by plant family. The collection was from around the world. There were fountains, memorials and a exquisite view of the Ligurian Sea. A must to visit if you...More

Villa Hanbury is a majestic botanical garden, running down to the sea. Full of exotic plants from all over the world which thrive in this micro climate. There are signed paths up and down the gardens (though you do not need to take them) and...More

Our guidebook raved about these gardens, so we travelled from Menton on the French Riviera to see them. We found them a great disappointment! They were in shabby disarray with passageways poorly marked and plants poorly identified. They need more staff. We recommend the Jardin...More

Went here recently with my wife and it was the highlight of our holiday. Beautiful weather did help but so did the tranquillity and the setting. Pergolas galore and a great memory.

This might have been a garden once upon a time... long ago. Plants look neglected, or in bad shape. What a shame to let this happen to this magnificent historic setting! They apparently had a hard winter - but does not justify the bad condition...More

The Giardini Hanbury doesn't have the budget of some other high profile gardens, but the setting is without compare, the different zones arranged on multiple levels down a steep hill. It doesn't get too crowded and there is lots to interest lovers of gardens or...More

This is a real gem. Beautiful gardens with a fascinating history. The Victorian British obsession with exotic flora transported to Italy . The various sculptures and buildings both great and small add to the joy of the visitor. The Old Roman Road (the Via Aurelia...More
