Caught the slow boat from Varenna and zig-zagged down to Como, enjoying the wonderful views. Parking in Varenna is a bit of a problem.

This is a really stunning lake. We stayed in the middle lake area at Menaggio. Ideal location. Ferrys available to other Lake towns. Easy to get to Lugano and St Moritz by car. Tourist train from Menaggio to Lenno runs each hour.

We spent almost a week exploring the area. Took a ferry to Bellagio, went up the mountain, spent a day at one of the beaches, and visited many small villages and restaurants.
