Beautiful church

For people interested in churches, culture and history, this is a great place to go, not only for the Cattedrale, but for the entire old town.

Probably one of the most beautiful cattedral in Italy with magnificient frescoes all over the wall. Amazing from the outside and the inside. Its huge bell tower is one of the most famous in Italy

Since I'm no architect, I'll leave art considerations to others. The tower was a fun experience with my family, and the inside of the church is big, well preserved and filled with art in every corner, as you would expect from a cathedral. All in all I was very satisfied with the visit. Remember to visit the baptistery just in... More

Beautiful structure from the outside as well as on the inside. Did not have much time in the city, but could not miss this impressive building!

Beautiful cathedral, very sorry no photography was permitted. Regrettably it was pretty dark and unable to see frescoes clearly. However facade is one of the best Romanesque facades I have ever seen.

The outside is primarily Romanesque but in a mix of styles. The carvings are spectacular, and the bases of the entry columns date to Roman times. Inside, the apse shines with gold leaf and the paintings resemble mosaics.

amazing church, not very different of what you can find all around Italy, worth the visit. A lot of restaurants around it and some views of you would like to go up!

Stopped here for a relatively short while and made a point to visit and enjoy the peace and quiet of The Cathederal.

The Torrazzo tower provides amazing views over the city and nearby countryside. The initial part of the ascent is straightforward but the final part is on a narrow spiral staircase which would not suit those with mobility problems. Once you climb the 512 steps you get virtually to the top of the tower. The viewing platform is enclosed by a... More
