Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in Moltrasio at a house called casa dell uva which we booked through Holiday Lettings. The house was absolutely lovely - clean, comfortable and nicely decorated with plenty of space, a fully functional kitchen with all sorts of food and nik-nacks provided by the owner and left by other guests. The house has a lovely balcony with great views of the lake as well as a little terrace garden which was perfect for sunbathing.
Moltrasio itself appeared to be a typical lakeside village. There wasn't a great deal to do, only 3 restaurants, 2 of which are right at the bottom of the hill by the lake - a long and winding 647 steps from the house (at least it kept us fit!). We ate at one of the restaurants which was ok, nothing startling, the other was quite expensive so we gave it a miss. From our journeys up and down the lake it appeared that there are other villages with more to offer than Moltrasio but, to be honest, although we had a fabulous time, once you've seen one village you've more or less seen them all. The lake roads are a bit hairy but good fun once you get used to them - the italians are mental drivers but we knew that already! The lake is
absolutely beautiful and we had always wanted to holiday in the Italian lakes but I'm glad we only booked a week in this particular area as we would have been hard pushed to entertain ourselves for two!

If you want to avoid the crowds and the shopping and truly want to enjoy the Lake Como of the past, stay in Moltrasio. Leave Bellagio, Tremezzo, and the other busy places to the big crowds. Stay at the Grande Imperiale and enjoy the same luxury but with the peace your're seeking. There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy and if you finally tire of peace and quiet, then you can drive or take the ferry to any of the busier towns for shopping and sightseeing.

Very beautiful place next to Lake Como. Several nice restaurants. Peaceful. Good possibilities for hiking in the mountains. It's a good idea to take a boat-trip on the lake to seethe surronding small villages.

Spent my birthday in Lake Como and Bellagio. BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! People are wonderful, kind and welcoming. A must visit. We didn't get to see George but we did visit his house.

It is not in the beaten path but the stay is worthwhile as you can get a boat anywhere in lake Como. Relax and have a nice dinner

I loved lake como. It was an amazing experience and very beautiful. There’s lots of steps so be aware of that. But the boat rides and views are very amazing.
